Personal history

Cres was born into a tribe of nomadic changelings with her friend Art, but the tribe was slaughtered by a raiding party in her youth. She managed to escape the slaughter and thinking she was the last survivor she ran away to Nililula where she ended up becoming a part of a crime syndicate. They manipulated her into thinking she was doing the right thing, and they used her shapeshifting powers to make her perform bigger and bigger crimes. An encounter with Art made her realize all of the terrible things she did, and she ran away from the thieves guild and ended up on a ship that ended up at the feywilds. As a fey was about to kill her, she changed into her regular changeling form while begging for her life. The fey decided to spare her for her connection to the feywilds, and offered her magic to help her right her wrongs. As it turns out, this magic was chaotic and impossible to control.
