Personal history
I hail from Ithilorn, the beautiful city of the Cosmic Elves. My childhood was peaceful and fulfilling. Our city rarely sees conflict due to it being hidden from all except those who know how to get there. Knowledge is important and so Ithilorn’s education system and libraries are expansive. I have always loved learning, reading any book and scroll I could. Unfortunately, being partially cut off from the outside world meant some books and teachings were a little outdated. Nonetheless, I studied hard and excelled in magics. My people also carry a tradition of magically imbuing our skin with constellations upon achieving milestones in life. Upon birth, our cheeks and brow areas are given a constellation that honors Vaelora, the Astral Wanderer, our cosmic god. There are a few more very specific ones that all our people receive, like casting your first spell, but others are based on achievements of each individual that are deemed worthy of a constellation. I don’t have very many, yet, but I am still very young with many more experiences to come, hopefully outside of Ithilorn and the Starlit Cradle.
One day, the Starwarden, the high seer of the council, called me to discuss an important matter. They told me of a dark prophecy known as the Vanishing Stars and about the Celestial Gate, a passage to the Astral Plane where Vaelora and other celestial beings dwell. The key to that gate has been lost for centuries, much to the dismay of the council, but now there are rumors of a powerful sorcerer who had stolen it. This key could potentially help the Vanishing Stars prophecy come to fruition in the wrong hands. No matter what, the fate of the elves depends on its recovery. Thus, the Starwarden tasked me with finding and retrieving it as I am magically skilled, but they also know of my strong desire to explore the lands outside Ithilorn. While I understood the task ahead is a heavy burden, I was also very excited for the journey. I packed up my things and made my way out of the Starlit Cradle and toward ___, a bustling city where I can, hopefully, find a lead about the key.
