Book 7: Wind, Chapter 15: Worsening War Report

General Summary

Following Rao killing the captured Neox soldier, the Circle travels back to Manaki , in order to find some Tyren shimmers. On their way they encountered Galian forces with important information about one of the Neox generals, General Mitra. Meanwhile, as they were traveling, it seems Neox forces managed to do something terrible.   Upon arriving at Manaki, the Circle went to attempt to jump off the cliffside to reach the garden below. Callow ended up getting lost, while Rao detected a shimmer. Both met up at the shimmer and went through, appearing besides Tyren as he was first entering the city. Leaving his entourage behind, Tyren ascended to the city with Callow, Nero and Rao. While Callow and Nero went to the inn to rest, Rao went to the library, where he had a discussion with the local librarian. However, just as several times before, their time in the past was short lived. They awoke in present day Manaki.   Rushing to find Callow, Rao made his way to the in. Callow, sensing the shifting of time, woke and the two talk about leaving the city, only to be found by Gregurt and Katherine. Katherine heard them out, and decided to give them a chance to prove their innocence by helping her out. They agreed to meet the following day.   Upon meeting with Katherine, she tasked the Circle with either finding the person responsible for the bombings in Manaki, liberating the key locations around the city, or delivering something for her to Neox. She agreed to let the party take the lantern, but insisted on taking the The Earth Stone as insurance. The stone quickly went out of control and tore off her arm. Rao healed her to ease the pain, and then escaped with Callow in tow. They picked up Nero, and jumped off the cliff in an attempt to get to the garden and away from the city. Strong winds knocked the party around, resulting in Nero falling back into the city, Callow breaking their glider and both Rao and Callow landing in caves. The pair regrouped, and decided to investigate the cave.
