Session 32: Answer or Questions?

General Summary

The party meets Colton, an old "friend" of Tinky's and he shows them to way to the Tower of Sages where they hope to meet with the archmage. While they travel there they see the various sights of The Isle of Mystrium, such as a training pyramid used by the apprentices.

Reaching the white marble tower of the Order of Sages, it is covered in ivy. At the entrance of the tower stands Henry of the Shields of the Arcane who grants them entrance to the tower. Inside there are a series of rotating staircases that seem to end in teleportation, taking those riding the stiars up to the designated chambers.

Speaking to Palitus Armranzo the party begins to piece together some of the mysteries surrounding them. The first thing is that the wizards have the Ogre Queen listed as Queen Mikarish but that is not the name the players know...but they also know the current queen is by no means the first.

They also discover the note they found from the current ogre queen is on paper that is manufactured in Fathalom

Using Speak with dead, they find out from the Satyr corpse that the dagger that was stolen would be in Shurrani's castle which lies underground. The symbol on the Essence of the Satyr was the symbol of Shurrani. After these revelations The Archmage says he is convening the Magi Assembly and that it would be greately appreciated if the party meets at the coliseum to tell their story.

Leaving the tower the party begins to go back to the Village of Libraries when they discover something odd. The pyramid that they passed on the way to the tower was no longer there. As they approached to investigate they ran into the hallucinary terrain that the Ogre King had cast. He stood at the top of the pyramid and began to attack them from far away. As they tried to approach they found their way blocked by barriers.

As they fought Shei was beaten into unconsciousness, wolves and demons were summoned, and Tinky used the spell Hypontic Pattern to break the illusion of the Ogre King. It was not really him but a demon he had masquerading as him.

When Shei is downed he gets dragged into the cage like stomach of the creature and begins to be devoured... but he manages to escape. This is not before the acid inside begins to devour... his hair. He casts banisment on himself, hoping to get a break, and finds himself in the Eternal Domain, in a massive jungle filled with grafted creatures.

Tak kills the demon and frees 5 souls from within.
