Session 086: Portal to Avernus in the Basement Report
General Summary
# S086: Basement Fight Date: May 9th, 2025
Summary
The party's quest began with their search for a time Dragon egg, which they believed would help them locate the cats of Uthar. Their journey led them to a mysterious mansion where a Red Abishai had been keeping the egg. After confronting and killing the Red Abishai on the Material Plane, they discovered the mansion held strange magical properties, with hallways that stretched and doors that appeared and disappeared at will. During their exploration, they encountered various beings including a succubus interrogating a local politician and a mysterious figure working on potions related to Dragon longevity. While Bastion temporarily disappeared, the group eventually met with a Rakshasa, who was engaged in a game of Dragon chess with a jackal-like humanoid. The Rakshasa revealed he had wanted the egg taken from the Red Abishai all along and warned the party about the devil's eventual return from hell, suggesting they close a Gate in the basement to delay this revenge. The party was teleported to a sweltering basement where temperatures reached 130-150 degrees Fahrenheit. The space contained a massive portal to Avernus, the first layer of hell, which was protected by magical shimmers on the walls that kept the extreme temperatures from proving lethal. Through the portal's crimson energy, they could see glimpses of a blood-red sky and jagged volcanic terrain where demons and devils waged eternal war. The portal was guarded by two Orthons - large devils with tusks and Metal plates bolted to their bodies - and two Spine Devils - small gargoyle-like creatures with bristling spines and leathery wings. The party discovered two red Crystal orbs powering the portal, which needed to be destroyed to close it. The intense heat affected some party members with Exhaustion, imposing penalties on their movement and attacks. As the battle commenced, they learned the orbs were immune to fire but vulnerable to ice damage. The combat grew increasingly chaotic as more creatures emerged from the portal, including a massive toad-like Hezrou demon, Bearded Devils with whip-like barbed beards, disfigured Rutherkin demons, and even a White Abishai. The party managed to damage one of the orbs to about fifty percent while dealing with swarms of Abyssal Chickens - terrier-sized demons with leathery hide instead of feathers. The battle reached a crescendo with various demons and devils fighting not only the party but also each other. Calliope polymorphed into a Giant Ape to engage in close combat, while Bastion used Ray of Frost to chip away at the Crystal orbs. An Orthon turned Invisible and escaped through a door, leaving the party to contend with the remaining creatures as they worked to destroy the portal's power source. The session ended with the battle still raging and one orb significantly damaged but not yet destroyed.Scenes

So just a quick recap. We will start with the fact that you guys were looking for a time dragon egg, because you were trying to find the cats of all Thor. From there, you guys end up going to this mansion where you heard the egg was being held by what's called a red abishai. It's a type of devil. |
---|
You found a gentleman at the mansion. He tried to get you guys out of there. A fight ensued. Found out he's the red Abishai. You killed him. But you're out. You killed him on the material plane. As you guys started exploring the house, you found the egg and then the house. This is where things got weird, because, bastion ended up disappearing. |
And the house started being really weird. The hallway started stretching, doors were getting, coming and going. And then you guys were hurt. We went to go check out one room where you found a, succubi with a local politician. As she was interrogating him, in a way. And, from there, you guys found. Oh, then you guys end up finding another guy who was working on, some potion stuff for the person who owns the house. |
You guys try to be us your way with him. Found it out. They were trying to see if they could use some other, magical ritual that was used with red dragon eggs to keep a red dragon alive for much longer than it was supposed to. But in this case, they were trying to see if they could do something with the time Dragon egg. |
In an effort to control some God. Before about the time that your deception was about to fall apart, the owner of the house kind of contacted him telepathically and pretty much let you guys, told you guys to pretty much go forward, and he was expecting you. From there, you guys entered a very lavish, bohemian ass kind of room where there was a, what looked like a kind of, lion and type, but with a backwards hands. |
And, he was playing dragon chess with, what looked like a jack, humanoid jackal character. And there was, various other people throughout the room, like a little harem of sorts and people doing various things. He you guys had discussion with him? Pretty much. What he told you was that, yes, he was the red Abassi had the egg. |
He didn't care if the egg. Was he actually kind of wanted the egg taken away from the red side, which is why he kind of led you guys here. But he did warn you that you might want to, make it a little bit harder for the abishai to come back because the abishai was killed on the material plane, which means he's going to be reborn back in the hills. |
So he's going to try to find a way back. And when he does that, he might want to come for revenge. So he suggested if you did him a little favor and just closed off the gate that's in the basement. That should help a bit. So that way maybe they can keep it so the other side doesn't come after you for a little while. |
You guys agreed? That's kind of where we stopped everything. Where you guys were teleported to a basement. A very small basement with a very large portal. In this room? Do I have you guys there? First of all? Yes, I do. Okay, so as you guys are in this room, the air in the basement, it hangs thick and accurate, stinging your nostrils with the unmistakable stench of sulfur. |
And something else. Something ancient and malevolent. The flickering torch light dances across the damp stone walls. There's almost like, like, a shimmer, though, against the walls. Like, because you're noticing how hot this thing is and something's got to be protecting this place from blowing up with the fact that the temperature in here is actually, probably about 130 to 150 degrees, which we will get to in a moment. |
On the far wall of the room is the the gate, a perfect circle of roiling crimson energy that pulses with infernal heat. The edges of this portal are framed by tongues of pure flame. Each lick is slowly rotating inwards, as if it is eager to draw anything nearby into its fiery embrace. Through the shimmering surface, glimpses of a blood red sky and jagged volcanic terrain flickers the desolate landscape of Avernus, the first layer of hell. |
The air around the portal shimmers with heat, and the low growl of unseen horrors echoes from within. And as you peer through the portal, you can see all types of demons and devils in the midst of combat all across the landscape. Guarding this terrifying gateway. You see four figures. You see two or thorns standing like implacable sons. Their, fitness armor gleams a sickly bronze of torchlight, each segment sharp and menacing. |
Wicked looking daggers. And, that's not right. It's kind of. Describe them a little bit more. These thorns, they are large devils with, two large, sharp tusks growing from the sides of their mouths. They have, like, plates of metal that seem to be bolted directly into their bodies. You also see off to the sides two little spine devils, these, small creatures hanging on the walls. |
They're like devilish, gargoyle like appearances with spines that are bristling all over their humanoid forms. A, set of dark, leathery, ragged wings are stretched out from their backs. They're about three feet tall, and they weigh half, if you have to guess, about 40 pounds. You see long, keen talons at the end of its hands and feet, you see glowing, muted red eyes with a high pitched. |
And you hear like, a little bit of a high pitched giggle and shrieks, you also see a couple others, orphans and whatnot on the other side of the, seeming to protect the other side of this portal. On the other side of the portal, though, you do see the gemstones at the. Oh. Rakshasa told you is the key. |
If you pretty much. He told you that you need to break at least one of these red orbs. There's one right here. One right here. Those little orbs right there. Those need to be broken for the portal to break. That's pretty much all I told you at the time. What we were going to do. |
Is. |
As you come in here, go ahead and run. Roll initiative. Unless you roll initiative before you roll the next thing and you're affected by the heat. |
Don't forget to use your new dice tower. Yeah. |
Definitely a dice tower, basically. And rolling the dice down the stairs every time you roll. It's. |
One. Two. Three. Four. Oh, man, I sit here, Calliope. |
The only thing I didn't mention was bastion. Bastion was, taken out of the group. When they shut, when the group came to the rock shots, that's when they found you. The Rakshasa was talking to you as well as playing the little dragon chess game. He was getting information out of you. So you were, like, in the in the effects of a charm spell? |
More or less. So you have very little memories of what had taken place for the last little bit. After you guys had found the egg. All you know is that you started coming to as he was telling them about having to fight, to close down the portal. And so that's pretty much what happened with you. |
Snitches get stitches. We got everybody in, |
All right, so the first thing we need to do is to effect, to take into our surroundings. So I need a constitution saving throw from all of you guys. |
As I said, the temperature in here is well over 100 degrees. As you guys come in and listen, let me rephrase that. Does anybody have anything that currently on them that's that gives them any heat protection or fire protection. I don't think so. But I just thought I'd double check. Not that if you cast something, then that's different. |
But I'm saying if you guys already had something like a magic item, you know, like a $5,000, a 5000 gold piece, ring. |
Pouch. Those are a lot of little rolls. I should have actually rolled a one, so. No, no, heat's really affecting the UK. |
I mean, I rolled a four, not much, but find this fight to be tough, but it accidentally killed you. |
Oh. |
Constitution saving. |
Yeah, he did pretty good though. |
All right, so as you guys come in here and instantly you feel this extreme heat. You guys all have a level of exhaustion as you come in here? Yeah. Wait, what does that mean? So exhaustion. And I think we might have. I think we changed the rules on that. I think we'll go into a little bit mid new rules. |
Yeah. So that, disadvantage on ability checks I think. Right. And well that's how that's traditional. Yeah. Traditionally it does that. Let me just double check here. |
I should have put those notes. I had meant to double check those notes. |
Oh, no. Nice. |
It's such an 86. |
So, while we're figuring this out, I sent you guys a video of toothless and the discord chat. And. |
Cat, I really hate how they did this. |
They made a change on World Anvil, and I don't like it. |
So. Yeah. So we did it. Where? You die if you get up to level six. Each time you receive it, you gain one level. So when you make the roll is reduced by two times your exhaustion levels. |
So what's going to happen is your, Minus two. And minus four. So you're minus five on your speed and, negative two on your d20 rolls. So your attack rolls whenever you make a d20 with is a negative two right now for everybody. Yeah. Well, let's see here. Not everybody. Any, it's pretty low DC right now. |
It is just by the way, I just, you know, if it's just to, |
Where did I put it? |
Okay, so I put it down as a DC eight. So. Bastion, you are fine, Veronica. Not so much. What is it again? Minus five to see. Yeah. Minus five on your speed. And a negative two for any d20 roll. That's until you get rid of your exhaustion, which is either a long rest or like, a, there are spells and stuff. |
I get rid of it and some potions. Greater risk. Like, I think it's it has to be a greater restore to get rid of it. For the spells side, there might be a few other spells to do it too. So you might want to look, see if you have a spell. Does anything like that, shadow, you missed it by one. |
It wasn't. Think about doing with that. |
Okay, so I do have greater restoration. |
And I have it eclipse. So it's something to think about. Is it is just again, it just takes one action for that. Right? Yes. It should. Yeah. I said you can reduce the target exhaustion level by one. I want to try something. James, roll me a d20. |
Plus 12. You, you're going to have the effect of one exhaustion for two rounds. |
Okay. Calliope, you are fine. So. Yeah, just. Veronica, it looks like they got affected by it. This and, shadow a little bit. That said, as you know. So how so how did how did that work that made exhaustion? Because he says reduce the target exhaustion level by one. How many? You only have one right now. |
Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So pretty much the way it works is that if you get up to the the rules that we're using, it's kind of modified. But it, it goes up to six. So once you get six levels that becomes instant death. No, no dying saving rules. You are that. You are just your body's beat. Got it. |
But I'm only one, right. That. And usually it's, like, exhaustion comes about like, if you didn't sleep at all during the night, you would do a check to see if you are exhausted. In this case, though, because the temperature is so extreme, it takes a kind of a toll on your body. And. But you guys are heroes. |
And try and see how you guys stand up to it. That said, we will start with the authors. Now. So this is what gives us so TBC. |
You see the large authors and they notice that you are actually I was going to have it, they were on alert, but they were also kind of attentive to something else at the time. So you actually had a opportunity to kind of see if, you get a, sneak attack on them. So I was giving you guys a little bit of play there, on this first one here. |
So we're just trying to smash those words, right? Close the portal. Yes. So the first orphan turns around, but he doesn't have time to react. He. You guys have kind of. You were able to surprise the first orphan. Calliope, you're up. Awesome. |
I figured we just, like, walked walk in here and saw that you were teleported into here, and he told you that you wanted to destroy those, orbs that are on the side to, turn off the portal. That was the instructions given so far. Right. Okay. And then we were immediately hit with the heat. Yep. |
Okay. |
And, |
We check something like. |
I am going to. |
Pull out my lyre. Okay. And I'm going to cast tell me if this is possible. I'm going to start playing the lyre and try to do a wind blow so that. I would love it. It would blow into the fire to push the heat away. Let's hear. Well, yeah, I don't I'm not gonna be able to really push the heat because the heat because it's just part if I, if I do a wall of wind in front of us, would it at least block the heat? |
Up here within this mess, would that affect our, attack? So. |
Because I shot my arrows through the wind wall. But it. Not work. It lasts for up to one minute when it appears. The strong wind keeps things at bay. Yeah. You could have, small or smaller flying creatures or objects cannot pass through the wall. Cannot pass loose, lightweight materials. Run into it. Fly up with arrows, bolts and other, ordinary projectiles launched at targets behind the wall are deflected upward and automatically miss. |
Yeah. |
Okay. Dang. Okay. No worries. You're thinking outside the box clarifying that, though? Yep. Okay. It's there. Yeah, it's a lot of people will say clapping with a no. That okay. |
And then, bastion, heads up. You're going to be after the, other on you're. |
Okay. Okay. I don't know what to do, but I have to be first. Give any party buffs. Any what? Party buffs, party buffs, any buffs, anything that you can buff your party with, like, less or anything like that, or debuff the other people. Or one of the other people debuff to bring them. And weaker, like crowd control like Bane. |
Okay. Oh, okay. Well, I guess I will do that. And try to attack one of the guys for us. All right, so. |
So, wisdom saving throw. Which one are you doing on? Let's do it. The one on the left. |
Instead of saving, |
He actually did really good. What's there? DC 16? I rolled a 17 shot. Yeah. He's got a little bit of a bonus. |
Do I have advantage on it? Nothing I can think of. All right, I will attempt to run down here and get behind these pillars where I have a little bit to cover. No worries. Shadow, you were going to be up after bastion the next on. He is active. He, Unfortunately, though, he doesn't get a chance to really notice you guys. |
He was already. You're now notice that he was kind of in the midst of a fight. On the other side of him, he was Russ, fighting a creature which seems to be a demon of some sort that was coming through the portal. |
As he comes through the portal, you see him? A sweet. |
You see a creature, a large demonic monstrosity. It's. This thing is eight feet tall. You're not sure why you didn't really notice him on the other side of this creature, but as he does, kind of, attack the, Or thorn, you notice that this, large 750 pound creature, it kind of resembles a bit of a toad with arms and hands, though, instead of four legs. |
Why? Very large, wide maul with, rows of blunt teeth that have a powerful crushing force. Series A long spikes that run down its its back, and as you see it, crush this guy. It bites into him, and, is able to, pretty much seems to take the last bit of, damage that he was trying to inflict on the or thorn. |
So the author ends up getting low and health. At this point, you guys are about to learn something that happens when orphans get low, ones hit points. Oops. It blows up. You see, this creature explode in front of you. |
As it does so, all creatures within 30ft are creatures. That includes the other guys. Have to do a dexterity saving throw. Coming. Does that include us? Anybody that's within 30 of them. Except for Calliope. Actually, Calliope, you are protected. Probably more or less with that wall there. Let's see here just how much of that wall protects you. |
I am I protected behind sass? I'm going to double check here, under shell. So I'm just saying. I'm just saying she's huge. So what we'll do is, Calliope, you get an advantage. Okay. And. Yeah, actually, I will let you have an advantage on that, person. You're welcome. And. Okay, so which one are we doing? |
Are you going to do a, dexterity saving throw? Okay. And then I saw the negative two on that d20. But you have a note? Yeah. You and sass, actually. Yeah. You guys have negative two on that? Yeah. 123 I win. Yeah. |
Congratulations. Oh, yeah. And I printed the out the, your the large silver dexterity. Lousy luck throwing the dice down the stairs every time I roll. |
All right, so let's see here. |
It's a DC 17. So, shadow, you are fine. That's. And you are fine, Veronica. Unfortunately, not so fine. Calliope. Uses the first one there. Yeah, you are fine. And, I said it was 17, so Barlow is not so fine. No, Barlow, I'll just do this. I don't have time to fill my dice. |
I didn't actually roll it. |
It's going to be so. Ten points of damage to those people who were not able to be successful. Unfortunately, Barlow has not gone raging yet. Did we do a long, rest or anything? Not yet. Like last game before we did anything, there was no longer. Yeah, you guys were just exploring. And you guys did have a fight before that because you guys fought the red or, the red Abishai. |
That's right. Right. So, yeah, you guys are down a little bit from the Red Abishai fight. There was no fights last game. It was more, different types of encounters. So damage from the Hawthorn. He is now dead. I'm going to go ahead and just have him use the thorns. Actually, I don't keep it there, so that way it's rough terrain. |
Initiative. Yeah. I'm gonna use, his initiative for the, the hazard that just showed up and killed him. But that would also be his turn. So then, bastion, you're up. Shadow on deck. Whoops. Actually, with that explosion, who's not been doing well so far. Shadow, give me a, d100. So our job is to stop this game, correct? |
Yeah. What you were told was to take out these orbs. At least one of the orbs is what he said. One of the orbs? Yeah, yeah, but if you take out one of those two orbs, he said that it should shut down the, the portal 100. I'm. I'm gonna look at the orbs first, sort of examine them to see if, if I know what they are or b, I know how to shut them down. |
Did the guy tell me anything? He didn't shoot me. He would have said, He just said that you just need to bust break one of those orbs. Break them. Oh. |
Underscore five runs. Oh, we were getting your body. You're on mute. And then they lost 8 to 3. That's good. That's, It was eight. |
49 is now tied with, for, What what? All right. Four. So two. |
I'm going to do this. I'm going to scorching. Rate this one and throw and throw everything at it. What level six. |
Does the 28 hit? Give me a second here. |
I sure hope so. |
You're not really sure? Because as. Because that's fire, right? Yeah. So, |
It the fire just hits on it, and it doesn't seem. It seems to be, immune to fire damage. Oh, no. Yeah, it's got all the fire and everything on it, so it seems like that might have been protected against fire. |
But as I'm going to move right here. Okay. And I guess I'm going down my turn since I can't do anything else. Oh, wait. Hold on. Bonus action! I'm going to. Pop! One of my little diamonds on my on my stones skin. And you got it. And then in my turn, so f from that explosion, by the way. |
And that has to do with that roll that I had. Jamie roll for me. You see these two other creatures, in the nearby combat on the other side of the battle, they notice that something's going on over here. So they they start running through, and they can run through the portal. The little ones. |
It's like. Second, I got to find where they are. |
Runner kids. |
There you are. So there's two little creatures. Start coming through the portal. You don't know what they're going to do. I don't like that. One rolls one. |
It's like, It's a bastion. You are done. So now you are up. All right, I'm going to bonus action. Turn invisible. |
Roll down the stairs. Right. I don't want to go that way, but, I did do a weird. I think my mouse died. |
Is that why you went the long way? Yeah. Then my mouse died. Can you put me? Over by Calliope. Like one space to the left and then go up to. Yeah, yeah. That's good. I'm invisible, and I'm going to use my, ice arrow. Okay. Do I get advantage on that? So I'm invisible. Something. I'm shooting at the orb. |
At the. You don't normally get an advantage on attack. Do you see? Invisible? I thought so, because it's like you're hiding like a robe, and they hide and you're you're not seeing. You get bandage on it because it's like sneak. And I just thought they, |
It's. I'm trying to think how that would even matter here, though, because. It doesn't. It's fine. Just go straight. Well, I mean, it does say it gives you an attack. Rolls having advantage. So. Yeah, sure. Why not? I mean, okay, yeah. I mean, the rules as written, it says that it doesn't say that they have to have sight. |
So to we double 14. So 2929 down 39 to hit. Oh 39 to hit. No. Okay. 29 to hit 29 to hit 3939 to hit. Got 29 to hit 1450. You beat the AC. Yeah yeah okay. So source I don't think I can use my swarm damage because it's making me visible, but I can't see my sheet. |
I'm not sure. And then the ice damage is a 26. |
I think I don't know you, me, I can't I can't look at a sheet. He doesn't know. Don't you just get some die? Get some batteries. I should so I could plug it in. I find you see. Right. |
There. It's either D4 or. Six. I don't know where you have it at. No. |
So does. |
Dice, I don't want anything. Tell me what it is. |
Ice arrows. You didn't. I don't see damage in there. Okay, I think it's on my notebook, but. |
Okay, well, for the first arrow, then I'll just do regular damage so I can figure it out. Right, so you can find it. I don't know where else I'm going to find it. Well, I, I can look here real quick. So. Yeah, team. |
Three. |
Oh, fuck. |
Yeah, I don't know. I I'm not sure when you got the ice arrow, so I'm not sure what the damage is. And I'll just add one d6, call it a day. I think it's a one d4, to be honest, that sounds about right. So. All right, so what's the damages that we're giving it? Okay, so I have my bow damage. |
My force damage. Tell me one by one okay. The the bow is 12 okay. 12 piercing. Then 11 force 11 force and two ice. That's two. All right. So. |
So what you notice is as the piercing hits there is some type of like damage reduction on it. So it feels like it should have hit a little bit more power. But the ice though, you notice that as the ice hits it, it hits it a little bit harder. So you're getting the idea that the ice might actually hurt a pretty good, and two from my swarm and two from the swarm. |
So that's, confused by this. You're hitting the orb, right, Jamie? Yeah, yeah. |
Okay. That's right. Nine. So minus five. That's 24. Okay. |
Rinse and repeat. I have one more ice arrow. |
Just not this one. Finishes. |
I think. |
I can. |
I can revolts okay. This is a much better okay. Do you want them separately? Okay. Give me a second here. Yeah. It's. |
All right. Go ahead and see that. Sounds sections. It is 17 piercing. Eight force. And three cords. |
All right. You see it as it as it starts chipping away. You can see flakes of the this like, red crystal structure is like chipping away and breaking it off. And you can see where the ice crystals were formed from when the arrows were nipping at it. Anything else? Nope. That's my drain. And I'm still invisible. |
First fun devil. He's going to chatter around the corner here. |
As he flies around the corner. |
It's going to bite at you first. |
It's not going to do it. So then, to bastion. I don't think it's going to hit any of you guys. |
I'm sorry. Say that one more time. He tries to bite at you, but, he's not able to pierce through your leather armor. Oh, gotcha. |
But I think. The. As it comes down at you with its fork in its hand, I think that a 21 will that hit 21 of it? |
With your stone skin stones getting only half of the damage. Oh, you take, four points of piercing damage as it hits down. That's four. It has fly by, which allows it then to leave your, Your vicinity without provoking a thing. It flies onto the top here. Casting, |
How do, All right, so I only take two, then you got it. You see it? Kind of. Then it's like hanging up on, on this pillar beside that pillar there. It's about, we'll say, about ten feet up in that. There's the ceiling. Oops. Screw that. That's fine. The other fine devil. |
He's, going around the other side. He would have seen the arrows coming out from you, so flies down to you. It does a bite on you. Shadow. I rolled a two. He Cassini. Oh, wait, you know what? They can still attack. Would be a disadvantage. You would have seen you over there. He would have seen where the arrow came from. |
And so he would have had an idea. But he got to just so it gives him a disadvantage. Okay. Actually, no. |
That was darkness. A lot of them do. That's what I just realized. No, it's just dealing with, magical darkness. Doesn't say that he actually gets that. It's dark vision. |
A 15 is going to hit miss you two right? And that's a two. So that's in this. So it comes out at you though, with it tries to find you and it's trying to bite at you, but it's not finding you. It's you see its tail come up and it, like, tries to whack at you twice. |
Actually, it tells finds, |
I don't know if it actually shoots them out. It. |
Oh. Oh. Okay. So the ice arrow, it is an additional D4, but it's a can save for speed. Is it. Okay. So. Yeah. Okay. Can't say it doesn't matter though. And that's only to see if their speed is half. Yeah. |
I think it's wait I want to play it off that I think that I don't think they shoot out. So we'll say that it was trying to hit at you with its tail. It misses, in anger. It kind of. It also flies up to the other side of this thing here. |
But, also near the roof. It's. The roof is on fire. Barlow is up, so. Yes, you're on deck. So he's going to go ahead and rage. What? Bar. You're just pretty much the tax, right? I know he usually just goes in and just does his little swinging attacks. |
So, |
And you move up. So the biggest guy here will do. And I think he's got, like, three attacks. I think there's two normal attacks. And then he's got the, |
Offhand where it's. Oh, crap. Got a ditch? Got it created. |
Oh, they got some resistances, though. |
It's. Just. It's going to be. I need a calculator. I can't do maths right now. |
Oh, that's acid cold. |
Oh, there's a rage. How much does the rage damage? |
Get down into that. We shouldn't bother with the set up. Just set this for this. |
I think it's like a plus two or a plus three or something like that thing on his level. It's like three. |
So that's 34. Damn, dude. |
Oops. |
So then I gets, another attack. |
It's to turn out to, |
It's, 13 do nothing. That's kind of what? Nope. |
Doesn't have a set up for. As our defense here, there's a rage pause button. |
I think it's the same. |
That might include is a rage. Damn right. I think I just is going to add to damage. I thought he had, offhand. |
Is. That we'll probably hit. |
Just do that one. |
That adds that in 15. So that's 21. |
So he took that worth on down size. His bonus action was the rage. So that's a pretty much all that's got sass. You were up. |
Was there any noises? No. Nothing too loud yet. You're on mute. |
And muted because I was smack. You guys wanted to hear you and punch and come up here and attack. This dude is about ten feet off the ground. That's fine. Okay. This is just to the line level. I, I guess. Yeah, you could. Since you swatting at the ceiling. Yeah, because you do primal savagery. That's going to. |
Oh. Oh. So I'm trying to think, because that puts him outside of your range. Technically, it being five feet range. All right, warmer here. This guy. |
That's on the five feet. Yeah, yeah, he's on the ground. |
All right, let's do primal savagery. |
21 to hit that. Typically that's going to hit. Yeah. Okay. And to be greedy. Ten acid. |
Ten. That that. |
11. Yeah. |
This seems to take all the acid damage. So it's not immune to that. |
Or resistant. |
Anything else? Back off. |
So round two. Four, Was force. What is the guy running to me? Oh. Oh, you're in sports. Gotcha points. Real quick, let's go ahead and have Calliope give me a d100 roll. You hit the top of the round. Okay? |
What? |
29. So. Yeah, we. I said nobody's able to get over here yet. So you are fine on that? The author's on, then. Yeah. Go ahead, give me yours for damage. |
Right. So your spores start chewing into him a bit. What's he going to do? |
To just. Right, listeners. Then we will have him go ahead. He looks around and everything's going on. He's going to go ahead and, slash out with his dagger. |
I can hey, I'm getting low rolls on those ones. As he misses Barlow. He disappears. You see him go invisible. |
What I will say is, because of how this battlefield looks, if anybody wants to is paying attention to him when he disappears, go ahead and give me a perception check. |
Everyone. If anyone was paying attention when the orphan disappeared. Well, you'd be hard for you actually from your vantage though. Yeah. But I've seen him. You would have been a bit hard because of just bits of, but because of other reasons I will let you go ahead and do it anyways. But unfortunately, from Dustin's advantage, it's not going to be helpful for him. |
He's actually in the worst spot for this. Best, shadows 27. All right. So, shadow, as you're standing there, it sounds like he's kind of going at somewhere in this area. You're not sure exactly where, but it sounds like more like he and you kind of see a little bit of movement where he's possibly going this way and not to the right, but that makes sense. |
Yeah. That would have been his turn. They don't get double actions. That's weird. I have to double check that, but that just seems weird. You see these, little runner kids running out? |
These guys are actually demons. It looks like they were fighting. The devil's on the other side and were able to get through, So. Oh, we're supposed to be, Oh. And actually, I realized, too, they were supposed to take some damage to, what was it, ten points when that thing blew up. |
I was miserable anyway, so it's fine. |
And that's under the threshold so far. That was like. |
We're just going to have him come out and fight. I'm going to have him decide whether he's going to attack one. Oh, that's a demon. So he's not going to fight. And so, yeah. Yeah. To come after you. |
There's a 23 hits. Yeah. |
Oh, but I do attack that guy with my spores. |
Isn't it when they start their turn in front of you or move. Oh, then when they move into your place. Yeah, it's just the one. So you're going to take 13 points of damage. And pretty much what you're looking at here, I should give you the job of. These things are ugly. You see, a six foot tall, disfigured humanoid. |
He's got mottled green and blue violet skin. You see, like little lumps, tumors all over its body. Completely hairless. But, Rare patch or two of uncomfortable looking little wiry bristles. It has a very elongated skull, tiny red eyes swollen with a vicious hatred. Just some deformed and demented looking flesh thing. I do need a constitution saving throw from you. |
From me? Yes. From you. |
14. Perfect. You succeed as you feel. As it bites into you and you take that damage. You feel like some type of poison trying to kind of penetrate to you. |
Okay. Yeah. You're fine. Calliope, you're up. And then I got some monsters coming up, and then bastion. Okay, I have a question. You got it. Does it always, Question hours. Can I like with. I'm assuming that Calliope would have seen, creatures like elementals. Okay. Can I use polymorph to turn into a water elemental? I don't. |
Isn't polymorph a beast? Yeah. Yeah, I don't think you can. I think elementals aren't. Yeah. You thinking a house? There are certain druids that have wild shape that allows them, but there's only. Yeah, there's one type of druid that does it. Dang it. That's okay. That was my big plan. Yeah. |
Okay, I will. |
Let's have some fun. And I'm going to use polymorph, and let's do, let's do a giant egg. Giant eight. Yeah. So let me come up. I, I think I have a. |
Unfortunate actually, that remind me of Taliesin. Let's get here. This is going to disappear, I don't remember. Yeah, it doesn't have sustained exits. I should just be a regular eight here. So there's your giant eight. They've only got 19 hit points. That can't be right. That's a regular eight. I can't be right. Giant eight is 157. |
They don't have one. Oh, she can't do anything, that's why. So let's do this. |
There you go. That's what you want. So I'm going to go ahead and Calliope just down the corner. So that way it doesn't get too confusing. We have this giant ape that appears here. I will go ahead. And those are like columns, right? Yes. Okay. Give me a second here. I'm sure I need to open up the character so I can give it to you. |
Yeah. So now you should be able to control it. Let's see the. She can. |
You right click it. You should also be able to see open character so you can see it. She. |
Love it. Got it. Okay. So I'm going. And actually one thing I like to give I'll give you the choice. Do you want to go with 157 hit points. Or do you want a roll of 15 d12 plus 60? I'll just go with the one. Okay. That's fine. Give the easy. Okay. So the. Columns like the black column is going up. |
It's going fucking on here. Now that I have the Ava. That's an actual column, right? Like it goes for it. Yeah. Okay. So I'm going. It was a little flair, just like throwing myself around it, King Kong style. And just like below, this guy. |
And then I'm going to do a you have two fist attacks or you can looks like. But your action was to polymorph. Oh. Good point. Yeah. And your action was the actually turn into it. That's right. Okay. Well, I'm still going to swing around. No, it that would be a interact with object. So I'm totally fine with that. |
Beat my chest a little bit and then I try to incite fear a little bit. No worries. You gained 157 hit points at the very least. Or fun. Which means it's the hazards turn the has. Or this frog like creature. Oh, shit. There's a stench. This is. It's all right. It's going to make. It's three attacks. |
Two? Those are demon. So it's not going to fight them. But it will. |
And that's. |
How to move forward. He's going to go ahead and grab at the double spine that was up on the ceiling. That's going to be enough to. |
Holy crap. That's more than enough. You see a look at the spine double and it chomps down on it. It starts to wing it. |
To. |
And then it spits what's left of it down on the ground. It looks over at sass. It's going to now use its, claws attacks on you. |
Is a 18 going to hit soon? 18 is going to hit. Yes. And will a 16. Oh, okay. You said how much spore damage? 66 six. Wow. Yeah. So I want to, to this. |
Can I say that? Laurels. You've got six, seven points of slashing damage as it after chews on that devil it then attacks you with its first claw hitting you, but the second one missing. No, it's going to be hit on that turn. Do you need to remember the stance, though, when it's your turn? |
Other runner can, he will also jump over here. I will have him also do an attack against the devil. It's not like they can. Oh, it's three or more runner kills. Okay, so don't worry about that. And I guess that's why. |
It's going to miss, though. It's its turn. Bastion. You were up. Shadow on deck one. |
That's a. Oh, sorry. No worries. All right. I'm going to move up over here, and I'm going to shoot this orb twice with my reference. You got it. |
So, |
116 going to hit it a 16, I do believe. Will it does not have a 13 in it. Huge AC. Yeah. So that's 25. But it's actually going to take 15.75. Oh yeah. Thanks. So as you see those two you can see as they hit the the red crystal structure. You start seeing these ice crystals forming on a cracking it even more. |
It looks like it takes some really good damage on it. All right. And I'm going to move up to here and hit it one more time. Oh, and a crit. Okay. So. First of all, let's take care of the damage. So what is that? Thunder damage and piercing damage. Just it. Also, give me a another d20. |
14. Okay, so first of all, let me take a damage. |
That's that wind damage. Oh, yeah. It is. Okay, so 15 plus eight, 23. |
So as the piercing, you feel like a little bit of the piercing was kind of taken away. Has a little bit of damage reduction on it. Not much, but just a little bit. That's offensive. But you did get a roll 20, but as you do hit with that, 20, you see these sparks hit up from it? |
Give me a Dex saving throw. Let's see. What. Oh, I'm not very dexterous. You get hit with, eight points of necrotic damage as these sparks of energy comes shooting out at you, sucked into the portal. However, you rolled a 14 on your d20. Let's see if that means anything. |
Oh, you get ten points of, silver flame healing, though. Okay, so you get that, blah. You attacked it, you hit, you created it. So that caused that extra damage. But with that spark to go ahead and give it me a d100. |
So 76. |
If that's going to break it, right? No, no, no, that's not what I meant. I meant the, threshold. Nope. You said it. Yep. I said something different. 43. That's good. Oh. |
Around the, out of the, portal as that spark hits. You do see? |
Oh, I have a problem. |
Too many things. |
You see what's weird? What's wrong with that? You see what's called a bearded devil come out? These creatures, tall, muscular, green skinned, humanoid, standing eight, sorry, six feet tall, playing roughly 225 pounds, thick, wiry, barbed beards like this, like thick, like almost kind of like, thing. What is it? When your head like the thick hair, like. |
Yeah, like like thick, like dreadlock looking barbs. But it's like these beards, pointed ears, this long tail, gray, purplish skin. It's moist, moistened, covered with scales. Very much kind of, but also has, like, a very much a typical devil look as it comes. It breaks through the fighting on the other side and is able to come through and join the fray. |
Let's go ahead and put him on the initiative order. I'm not a fan. |
Right. Anything else special? Nope. All right. To understand, you guys, I was noticing on the other side of this portal, there is a war. As you guys have heard before, it's called the blood War. Demons and devils fighting. It looks like as you guys are interacting with this portal, some of them are trying to break through this portal. |
It's. Maybe they never noticed it was here. Who knows? But there's little things that are causing them to notice and to enter this fray. Shadow, you are up. All right. Not invisible War. I do not have any more ice arrows, so it'll just be my regular arrows. You got. The first one is us to. My mouth is not mapping to like, 28 to hit. |
That's going to hit. Okay. Oh, sorry. Okay. |
That is usually the chosen number. All right, all right. Do it in separate. Yes. Actually, no, that's fine, because, there's no fire. And then if since there's piercing, I'll just take out. Yeah. So go ahead and give it total. Does this force damage not do as much as it does. There's just a damn, just like the mechanics is. |
There's a, five damage reduction on, any physical damage. So the first five of physical damage does not count. Did it look like that or just got bigger? That's on me. No. Oh, I was trying to see if I can change it. So that way I can actually not have to open up the token to change the number. |
That's all. Yes, it's a roll 20 thing and 15. 21 plus nine is 30. So it's damage. |
And then the second strike arrow is a 31, 29 to hit. Okay. That will hit. |
16 plus nine is 25. That's a damage. |
Okay. And then that was the second round, so my exhaustion is no more. Yeah, that would be the second round. So no more exhaustion. Yeah. Okay. So you put. Anything else? No. I'll see you right where you. That's that's not actually dead. Bonus action. Go invisible. What? Okay. He would have been attacked by this guy here, so he's going to go ahead and attack him back. |
So the good thing you're noticing is that as these demons and devils are coming through, they're also willing to fight each other. And not just you. So who knows how that might work to your favor or not? And how does that one orb look? Does it look like it's, You're. No. But I mean, but you can see you've made some chips into the, the Red Crystal structure that is on it. |
That is there, |
For him, that's quite that's a two that's not gonna do anything and that's a one. So that's going to do nothing. So he's going to go ahead and scurry on the wall, and then he sees the big ol ape. So then he gets all freaked out, and then he sees Barlow, and he'll just hide on this side of the wall. |
That's his turn. Barlow is, What? |
What's the distance on that? He's within ten feet of this guy, so he's going to have to do the, constitution saving throw. |
Which I believe really gets advantage of. Right with, rage. What strength and constitution is it? I don't think it's constant fusion. I think it's just strength checks and dexterity checks. So athletics and dexterity. Sorry, 19. Still the highest one. Take the left. So he's fine on the stench as that doesn't affect him. We will go ahead and have him, |
Two. |
I go ahead and see how. |
That's going to hit. Us. |
That's what is going on. With her right there, he'll be able to get through. So. |
Technically. So. |
14. 15. 16. 17 was, |
16. Just perfect. Was able to take him down. We'll go ahead and have him. I thought it was the cat over here. |
So. |
So he's then going to go ahead and tack this guy over here. Here. So that's you have a bit. And then we have the new guy that's entered the fray. He's a devil, which means he will fight the demon since he's right in front of him and totally miss where they go. |
You see, though, it's beard actually starts attacking at the, Has drew. The beard starts kind of trying to, lashing out at him like whips, but they're not able to pierce through this thick demon hide. He then, takes his glaive and, tries to pierce at him with that. And that also, unfortunately misses. |
I'm still not. Yeah. Okay. It says you're up. All right. Primal savagery again on the big guy. Okay. Oh, that's 20 nice. It's six. So that gives us 28 to hit okay. The damage is this acid. That's. |
Oh, we hold it. First of all, you did start your turn there. I need a, Oh. Here. Let's let's see your damage first. It's all right. Do one thing at a time. Okay? Nine, nine points of damage. Yeah. And, as you start taking in the stench of this creature, I need a dice. I need a constitution saving throw from you. |
20. You are fun, but, dirty. 2031. Okay, so, yeah, as the stench tries to kind of pierce you, you you're, able to kind of fend off the sickness poison effect. You are also immune to hazardous stench for 24 hours. So that's that. And since you did get a natural 20 on your roll, let me go ahead and get another d20 roll. |
So I have two minus two on this one. No, no, not on this one. But this is, Nat 20. Oh, perfect. So you actually get. Two hit points. Permanent. Oh, yeah. Okay. So your actual maximum hit point goes up by two. I should point out that Barlow had. |
Do I get to increase my current hit? What? Hit points? Two or just my max it. Would you also get two? Yeah, you get two. Your maximum goes up by two and then those two would also become two hit points that you have right now as well. Okay. Pretty much what it is is that with the silver flame in the mark of the adventurer, that's where I introduce the whole, you get the special on the d20, and this is what Barlow got before, where if you get a 19 or 20 on that second roll, it allows you to get 10% of your missing hit points. |
So, like, if you would have gotten your max rolls on, you hit points every level. That's what I'm calling that the missing hit points, that difference there. You can only get that one time a day though. So if you get it, if you get the same circumstance again, all you get is just 15 temporary hit points. But that's the best thing that's on there. |
Really? No way. Anything else? That's it. You got it. So Hawthorne. |
Jesus. He's doing. Whose turn is it? Which one? He's off the screen right now. He went invisible. |
He is. But he's going to go ahead and use his crossbow. |
Let's shadow. James. Are you done here? Yep. |
Fine. Just. She. |
Shot. It hits. |
So he rolls a two d10 on the damage. I got a one and a ten. |
So this is all going to, James. So all of a sudden you saw, an, crossbow bolt come striking out at you. It hits you. You take 14 points of piercing damage as it hits you. Just as it's about to hit you, though, you see a radiant light that comes out of it. I need is that with disadvantage? |
Because I'm invisible? That that would be. Except it turns out he actually does have true sight. You can see that he caught. He saw you were exactly where you were. 14 is that was 14 points of damage I need from you. I need from, Let's see here. |
The 20. |
So what I need is from you and Calliope. I need a dexterity saving throw. Okay. And that's just straight right? Yeah. Just the deck save. Oh, wait. Am I doing that? That's on me. Yeah, yeah, with the the apes. Stats. Okay, so 17 for shadow. |
You said 17. You are needs it. Beats it. So you are fine. Yes. As this bright light, radiant light. Oh. You still get take damage on it. So you do take another four points of radiant damage. That's good. Also, go to you, Calliope. What was your role? Yeah. You'll take four points, with the 14. |
Unfortunately, you are also. Unfortunately, you are going to be blinded. Wait. I don't think I did this right. That's right, that's right. That's an ability score. That's, Let's see. |
Does he have athletics? Perception? |
What I'll say, because it's a little bit different. You don't exactly have a Dex save. I'll go ahead and let you use the Athletics, since that is technically a Dex. So that actually goes. Seven more. Yeah, you're be fine. So never mind. You're not gonna be blinded. So. But I'm still down for. But you do take a little bit of that and take the four points of damage, as the radiant energy does pierce through to you. |
This four. Let's go ahead and see how this runner can, though, does with his Dex. Save a feeling they're not very dexterous. Malformed. Oh, yeah. It's a three on the roll. So he's going to be blinded right now. Which guy? The little, run. The ugly little creature that was next to him. As that radiant energy from that hits you, it kind of sparks out to 20 within 20ft. |
And, does it say I can use a bonus action to become an invisible? It doesn't say that. He only gets at once. That is very cool. So then in Calliope, shadow and sass. Go ahead and give me a perception check. |
30 |
Hold on, Zach, on the. Roll each. |
Chronicles. Well, so pretty much, Plus. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm just gonna mute it. James, you see him kind of start moving. You see some, like, especially with the little, deformed creature that's on that side of the pillar. So I'm at 16. It looks like he might be going back to the other side of that pillar from where he came from. |
Possibly. Oh. All right, one other concern. Oh, you're dead. |
Actually, though, with that bright light, let's go ahead and have, that. Should you give me a d100? Did. Oh, you did him already, sass. You give me a d100. |
You all have to. You 51, 51. Nothing seems to happen. |
All right, so, Calliope, you are up. You are not blinded. Okay. I'm going to let the kitchen light up. Alexa. Kitchen light on. Yeah, I heard that's all I can hear. If she ever comes to life, she is going to be the first person she comes after. Oh, yeah. The robot overlords are going to kill me. In fact, I if you've noticed, though, I've actually been trying to avoid doing that stuff now because I saw a thing that looks like Amazon is bricking some people's devices when it's hear you cursing her out so you can't call her anymore. |
Yeah. |
So I've tried. That was not a thing. What? Well, they have to. They have to listen to your voice, because that's how they're able to pick up when you say her name. Right. And so then you must be named. I haven't verified it, but I saw some things talking about how people are complaining about it, and I wouldn't be surprised. |
Just me. So Giant ape is coming around the corner there. Okay, I'm going to go after this guy right here. That one is dead. Oh, no. Hold on. Nevermind. I think there is a guy still there. For some reason, he's. Yep. There we go. The one that was dead was showing on front here. Yeah. The big frog looking creature still there. |
Oh, this is like rampage. Oh, we didn't know. Is a werewolf. |
I mean, I can I can't cast it. I'm already. Yeah, man I would okay, I'm going to do two fist attacks on this guy. So I will just do a minute. Do another one. Holy shit. This is, he's got actually a pretty low AC, so -32 Wall of Doom. Like boom boom. Hey, did. |
He's bloodied. He's he's hurting us as you King Kong on him and smack him around. You could see like, you're like, just greenish black kind of ooze kind of start pouring out of these, like, wounds that are forming as you've heard them, so bad. And there's, I don't know if he has any, like, bonus action, but if I can add some flare, I would hit him with the right fist first, give him a right hook, okay? |
And then hit him with a left, okay. So that he bounces off that column. He gets like a third wall up on this side, this other space. It's not going to cause any more actual mechanical damage. But you got it. Yeah. Anything else? I believe that is it. I would probably just keep drawing because I can draw arc, but way too much fun. |
You're. Argh! She doesn't get to fight that much stuff. Okay, that's so it. Take him off the turn order. So that's a rather kins turn. He's, going to amble on towards, Shadow Wood. You said you were invisible. No. Wait. Yes, yes yes, yes, because it hasn't been to the top of my turn yet. Well, you would have seen arrows coming from there so he can still attack it, but it would be a disadvantage where it thinks, oh, I shot my arrows and then I went invisible. |
Right. So. But he would he think that something's over there, that's all. I should have moved. |
Well, here, let me do this. No, no, no, you do it. It would be still needed to see. Well, I mean, I'm. Because I'm trying to think that I was going over there because the fact that I can see a token. But he does also have the devil that's up here. So that's the easiest, fast, quicker thing that would make more sense, actually, it doesn't matter anyways. |
Because 910, 1112 I don't think that their AC is that low. Five that, 13 actually. So he goes after trying to buy that, little guy, but he misses, bastion, you are a shadow on day. |
I'm gonna shoot this little thing twice again. Wait, so. Yeah. Because I clicked on something and it said open sesame. What? That's an open sesame. Yes. |
Going to hit this thing again with to raise it for us. |
It's a 1796, 1734. It breaks. Right? It's gotta break at this point. No, these things are actually pretty. Pretty strong, actually. But you are definitely breaking through this, this red crystalline shell. And I hit it with that. Oh, my God, this is. |
And then I will. And my turn. |
Oops. |
It's sorry. |
All right, shadow, you are up. And. Okay, bunch of people that says I'm going to do a lightning arrow. That wasn't so, the orb again. Again? |
Shoot. Is Barlow within ten feet of that, or is he just outside? He's within ten feet. That's. I don't want him to be within ten feet of that. Because he's hurting afk Barlow. Comparatively to compared to his full HP. Yeah, like a lot. A lot or like more than half. He's he's at one third actually less than. |
Oh jeez. Almost a quarter. Yeah. We can't kill him when he's not here or I can't we, let's be really funny. Dude, you missed it. So we killed you. See? You died. He's raging though. He gets advantage on dexterity saving throws. Yeah, he's actually. Yeah, he's got a quarter health. Real. He I mean, yeah, he gets to take off half of the physical damage. |
I think he came into the fight weakened. Is the problem. But he has advantage on Dex saving throws I think so. Thinks it's like danger sense or whatever. Right? Yeah. This is a danger that he can, determine. Yeah. |
I don't want to, No, I don't want him. |
He's too close to it. I don't want to kill him. Okay, I'll just do a normal attack on the orb. Yeah. So 18 and I hit. |
A, And this was all the things. Reroll that one. Okay. 1524 damage. |
Okay. Yeah. And the second strike to hit is a 25 to to hit. |
16 and another 25 of damage. |
And. Okay. And since I did that bonus action, this one looks like it'll damage a bit more than the other one. |
Okay, okay. Chipping down, chipping it down. I can do my natures Fail one a couple more times, so I will. Bonus action. Go invisible and then, move. Okay. Spy devil. He got attacked by that thing. |
So is. It's gonna be. |
All right. So he is able to bite into him. But then, as two of the other attacks, actually. |
It would have hit. Oh, that is a ranged attack. Notice that? |
It's, |
Barlow's turn. So go after the thing. Do you have a healing potion? Sure. It, it's that's still bonus action. Yeah. Yeah. For the roll. Bonus action for the roll. Full, action for a full hit. Points or for giving it to somebody else. |
But he's only got one. |
And a just a potion of healing. |
To make him drink it. I'm going to wait a little bit longer. He's got a little bit more. He can go. So we'll just have him do some attacks. |
I don't think that's. |
And it's a. |
Hazard is still standing. It's. It's for the bearded devil. |
That is a demon. |
It's the thing that's right in front of him. So, yeah. Would probably make the most sense for him to do, bearded devil. |
Attack with its beard. Got the. |
40. That's fine enough. |
Sass, you were up. |
Half the time it really. I don't know. I'm just saying that. Primal Savage. Yeah. You want to pull out notion? Lily? Maybe next time. 11. It, on the big guy there. I think he is. I see that a little bit higher than that. Something like. |
Where you go. |
They rolled a three and. Yeah. Look. Ten and minus two. And anything else? Do it. |
All sudden, you hear, like, some weird screeching sounds. No, no. |
A second here. |
So you see these little creatures coming in, these unsettling creatures. They kind of, about the size of, like, a terrier dog with his scrawny little legs, sharp talons. But instead of feathers, these things are covered with tough, leathery hide, a sickly shade of red. Some a little bit of black and some purple. And it's got a pair of leathery, bat like wings. |
These tiny little fins are known as abyssal chickens. |
I didn't see other demons. I guess. |
I'm kind of Chinese. It's pandemonium now for me. For life. This pandemonium. |
Sets. All right, what's Hawthorne's turn? |
He'll go ahead. |
It's going to go after the biggest thing he sees. |
What's your AC there? Calliope as the great ape wakes. Doesn't matter. My ass. Yeah. It's more than. Whoa. Oh. It is. Oh, then I guess you. That's it. You that I was like, oh, he's not going to help with the 12. Target. |
So you take. Ten points of piercing damage. |
We will go with, Okay. So you take that damage. I also need, a constitution saving throw. Not sure on that thing, so. See, which. Yeah. Just have to do a can't say, can't check. So with that, just be a d20 and plus a four. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So 22. Okay. I think you're fine. |
Okay. So successfully, you still take a little bit of damage. |
So let me eight so you can take six points of thunder damage on the eight. It's it's within 20ft though. So that's also gonna have, eight. |
Yeah. So, sass, I need a, a saving throw from you as well. |
18. What is it, 1880. Oh. You're fine. But you're still. What was the damage? I said, Demon. Much damage. I just said, six. So you'll take, six points of damage? Are you tracking the damage somewhere else, like, I, I because I noticed that the a peasant, the bard has a go down. I have it on a post. |
Okay, cool. I'm at 130. No, I just want to make sure it's being tracked. Yeah. |
So this was this concussion, but it all does. It just gives thunder damage, What's it you see is. And so, you see, I was fine. Devil. |
It's fine. I will take six points of damage. |
Barlow. I did hear from his mom. He's. She asked if that if log on yet. And I said no. His mom? Yeah, that's how I Facebook tart. |
He must be passed out. Probably. |
Oh, that has real. Oh, he's got a pretty icon, though. |
Not enough though. And it doesn't have a resistance against thunder damage. That is enough to take down the Hasbro. |
Nice. And then, numbers of those guys, I have points is an abyssal chicken. Half. A chicken jockey and chicken jockey. That's so irritating. The kids still shut that at school all the time. We're going to go ahead. You should just start shouting and then it won't be cool anymore. You see, one of the official chickens who also is wiped out with that concussive blast that comes out from the, shot that it shoots, then once again goes invisible. |
I already banned them from saying skip it in the library. Nephew point. I'm not going to worry about it, people. See, there's just too much pandemonium. Calliope, you're up. Okay. Guys, it's in the middle of the fire. Who is that again? Bearded devil. Bearded devil. Okay, |
I'm going to step over this guy. Just squash him and go after the devil with a two fist, and you got it. I attack. Oh, wait, I need to do a roll. See what happens with that last blast. That was pretty loud. |
So that means one more of these bearded devils comes running through the gate over here. There we go. |
Go ahead. I they're they're in the chat. Oh. |
Is it a suit? Yeah. The first one's going to hit, and that second one misses 23 bludgeoning. Too shabby. Okay, that's a lot of damage. |
Mean it took him down in size, like not blood. Quite bloody, but he's close. Okay. |
Anything else? That's it. Right. My adversary last. I need to put, chicken guys on to, Just put them all in the same one. |
As you. |
Just put that. |
Oh. Rather kill. Go ahead and still fight the little devil. |
And, And, |
So that's. |
That's. |
Interesting. |
So. |
You see the spine? Devil, gets bitten by this, Rutter kin is what they're call the deformed demon creatures. It's actually enough to kill him as he does so. However, you see some type of change take place in him. |
It looks like when these things kill you, if you're unlucky enough, you can turn into something else. Oh. Out of. Out of the midst of them like this, the skin starts tearing off. And you see this little creature just, like, break through. Almost kind of like, like, alien, the chest bursts kind of thing going on here, and this thing comes out, very much like, looking like the, the brother kins, but on it's hand this, like, there's not even bone inside of there. |
It's just flesh that kind of just snakes out like a elephant's trunk. But at the end, you see, it's got these weird little tendrils where the fingers are. And in the middle of the hand is this huge mouth with, like, these large teeth. You. |
Know, just let him use that on the turn order. Bastion, you were up. Shadow on deck. All right, I'm. I hit this thing one more time. Hopefully can destroys this time. 12. That actually is going to, not give him 20. Row 12 and 12 doesn't hit no. Damn it. So 26, 26 hit. What's this, 28 like? |
Oh, I know what is six damage? Gotcha. These things are pretty resilient, though. |
I will say, though, you have a just as damaged as the other one is at this point. What? How you and Tara been going? Oh, yeah. We've been going our different ones. Yeah. Why why why are we attacking the same one? I don't know, only one needs to go down like I. Why? We've been attacking this neighborhood. |
Great. Where? No, you don't understand. Sorry. My phone started saying. Oh, right, I understand. Oh, I hit it when my watch does up. Okay. Are you running over to this side? Does it can we tell which one looks more? They looks at this point, they look about the same. Okay. Before that, that yours was prior. Yours was a bit more damaged. |
Okay. Than I in my turn. Shadow, you were up. All right. I am going to. Right here. Yeah. Because bar on this side. Barlow was so, But there's so many around there. But he's still within ten feet. |
He's one after that one. Yeah, it's still tough. He hasn't moved. I don't know, why haven't you moved his? Okay, Barlow can move all over the place, but he usually doesn't. |
I know, but I could have hit, like, went all of these guys over here within a ten foot radius. Okay. 22 to hit? Yep. |
Okay. What is great for, 14, 23 points of damage, I think. |
Okay. And then the next one to hit is even higher. 25 to hit. Okay. Great. Eight. 13. 19 plus nine is 28 points of damage. Okay. |
And. |
That's it. Okay. At this point, you want you have got it down to about 50%. You can tell like it's as the as we're looking at all the various cracks, even sections of this like Red Crystal kind of structure, there are just bits where you're actually seeing that. It looks like it's, an encasing of some sort, inside of it. |
You see bits of something else that's inside of it. You can't really tell yet. 50%. Yeah, all of that. And we're only a half. Well, you've been hitting both different ones. I know, because we're idiots. |
Anything else? Nope. Devil is no longer a devil. He's a brother, kin. He's now friendly with him. So that means now he will attack you. The devils or you guys. The closest one being Barlow. That's the time. Abyssal rat wretch. That's what this thing is called. |
Has a bite attack. I'm just going to say it's the hand. But that doesn't do anything. Let's say, with, he wants to kind of just get a little bit further away. So that's no big deal. Just spear the devil to the devil. Double. I guess the closest thing for him would be either these little chickens or the big eight, but, two is not going to do anything. |
How many attacks does he get? |
Leave a three is not going to do anything. Truly. |
Look over here feeling the resentment of the fact that you didn't really get anything. He does move out of your. Well, actually, what's your range? 5 or 10. Clippy as the great eight. Giant ten. Okay, so it's still technically within your range, so that doesn't matter. Barlow is, he just got chewed in that gap by that guy, so he was. |
Go ahead and use his first attack, thing that hit him. Or try to, I should say, like, I figured out what the hell I is. She. |
Yeah. That's enough to take him down. Actually. So we will have him turn around towards the other guy here. Kind of looks at how it looks like the other two have been taking care of the crystals, so it feels like you can just kind of just be the cleanup through the middle here. Oh, and that 20. |
And I know his net 20 does something. Oh I got in that 20 on a 20. And it has been more than one day since the last time he actually gets to actually hit points. That's good. |
He's gonna we have said that he didn't roll for, but he got it anyways, I got a double check with a missing is. Can't be still the same. So I'm still on for. |
You know, like, you guys. |
Know what? |
I was off. Why is it, say, Max 375 on hit points, but not on a sheet? Maybe it's not as hurt as I thought. That's weird. I don't know what's going on there. I just noticed this token says something different than what the sheet says. Barlow. Yeah. His hit point is he's not as hard as I thought he was because it was looking like it, says Max. |
375. There's no way is 375 hit points. No, he does it. I don't know why it says that, but I look at the inside part. Doesn't say that though, so I don't know. That's weird. |
It's not really the same. |
Oh, I figured that out later. That's right. But. |
Yeah, I think that was enough to kill this thing to. |
All right. Where the devil bearded devil. |
What did you see there? Great. Drain it. |
Five. I think it's 13. Sorry. I stepped up for a second. What was your question? Your AC, 12. So you can take eight points of piercing damage as the beard, like, starts whacking at you like a whip of Ninetales. And then I need a constitution saving throw from you. Okay, so, |
That would be, 20 or. Sorry, 13, 13 for the Constitution. Yeah, just made it. You fill a poison? Kind of trying to get through. But you're fine. |
But you do still take the damage. The second one as it hits, with its glaive. It misses. So that's that sass. You are up. |
Let's see. The big guy was going after his dead. Yep. There's another big guy somewhere around here, but he's invisible. That's not helpful. He, You know, the bearded devil that's coming through that just struck out at the giant eight. These guys are all dead. There's a couple of these little abyssal chickens on the ground, and then there's one other guy, one of these, little monstrosities over here in the corner. |
Yeah, that's what I was looking at. I'm going to go over to him. I can stand here. Right. Since that one's dead. Yeah. It becomes difficult terrain. That just means that if it takes twice, ten feet of movement, it's at a five. That's. This is a very big area. All right. We're going to go and then. |
So 23 to hit. That'll hit. Him. |
To. |
1313 bludgeoning. |
All right, so you strike down on it. Was. Kind. Yeah. These little ugly, featherless, demon looking chickens all around your feet as well. Right now. Yeah. Stomp on, anything else? That. |
Is it the chickens? Turn. It will be in a moment here. Because first we got to see if anything else decides to enter the fray. |
And unfortunately, this is going to be a big one. Very much like the Red Abishai. You guys fought a very similar looking creature. Starts to, to swoop in from the sky on the other side, and you see. |
There you go. You white abishai. These guys are very similar to the red abishai that you've already fought, but white, so it's a little bit different. Then who knows how that does the tower set? |
It's interesting to note when you see this thing. Draconic, humanoid, scaled white skin, large wings on its back, and a very long tail. |
Like spores. Hit it for the three points of damage. How much is it? Three. So, as it is, it swoops in through the portal. All of a sudden, these, like, mushrooms start to start biting at it a bit. But the chokes on them. It's all right. So then it would be the abyssal chickens turn. So how much damage do they take from your ones that are near you? |
Well, I'm doing three of them. Right. Is it all three of them? Certain ones that are by me there. There's actually four there for. All right. So we have a one. |
Oh one, two and the seven. Nice. |
Yeah. That one's pretty. Almost dead next to you right there. On those shrooms. |
They will. See? |
This little chickens. |
You're going to take eight points of piercing damage from the various chickens around you as a package. You, with their bite and claws. |
And it's, |
He's got a pure over here. |
Oh, he is. |
Devil. So he's not the ones to. |
That's like nothing but devils over here. And, at this point. |
I guess he will have to go for, just. Mister, I didn't want to play tonight. |
It's a really good rule. |
That is punishment. He forgets about us, so his character dies? No, not on purpose. |
I'm just. |
You know what? I'm going to do something interesting here. |
He's feeling pretty wounded. He shoots an arrow. Barlow. |
So he's still going to take some damage. |
And then goes invisible. |
What I will say is he goes invisible as he does so, though you see the door of there open and then closes. |
That's his turn. Calliope, you're up. Okay. |
Scorch. Just appear. Okay. I can hit two opponents up in one turn, right? Yeah. You know, you have if you have a multi attack, it doesn't have to be on the same guy. No. Okay. So I'm going to do a left hook on the demon guy. This guy okay. And a right hook on this creepy other guy who got it. |
Double. |
So that first one takes him down. Sweet. Yeah. That was enough to take him down. The second fist. I feel like though the white abishai might be a little bit stronger than that, but I see him. |
Actually, he's got a pretty low AC that much lower than I would have expected. |
Oh, you know what? I just realized that your your attack should not be hurting as much damage. It's all right. Just count it now, because unfortunately, they have a damage resistance. A bludgeoning, piercing and slashing. That's from a non-magical attack. And that's not silver. So your your fists are not magic or silvered. You know, I feel like a polymorph creature is just magic. |
It's not because it's it's not, though. Let's try. What if they're glittered? Then they're glittered without magic. Silver, whatever. Glitter. Silver color, but not material. Yeah. |
Anything else? No. I think actually, we're. Let's go and just pause it here. It's already almost midnight, and we got to take the kids out to, and then pop us in the morning. So we will leave it there. Where are you guys? Have taken one of the orbs about halfway down. You've had all types of creatures fighting in the middle of the hells coming through this portal, though, as you guys have kind of made the guards more interested in protecting the portal instead of what's coming through. |
And of course, who knows what happened to that orphan. And we will leave it there, though. Oh, okay. You're it. All right. Thanks, guys. Thank you. See you. |
