Epic Magic

Epic Magic also called High Magic is the highest form of magic used by arc mages of Avalon those who have years of experience. The limits of epic magic are much higher than normal magic permanently altering climate, making new species, and even becoming a god. This magic is heavily guarded due to the immense danger it can pose to the cosmos.   Epic Magic requires a multitude of components to work properly spending on the spell. To even be eligible to be cast epic spells one must have direct exposure to the arconis, it's light, it's unique stellar matter & spirit. Epic spells have an extremely high requirement for mana requiring collaborative casting of many mages funneling their mana into the caster each caster giving their mana must also be arc mages although this can be supplemented with the spirit of mortals & animals, the sacrifice of the caster either body parts or even their very life.   Even when the mage has enough mana to use a high magic spell it will still yield immense exhaustion to the user's physical stamina and spell casting capabilities for a time casting a tenth level spell will make the mage unable to cast spells above sixth level for up to 6 months, eleventh level spells make the usage of any spell above a cantrip impossible for 2 years, & a twelfth level spell makes any spellcasting impossible for 50 years. Epic spells have a long casting time depending on the level it needs hours or even days of concentration to cast, this is aided by a barrier casted around the ones casting the spell which defends them during the casting of the spell.
