The Eternal Dissonance
The Eternal Dissonance
The conflict known as The Eternal Dissonance is a interplanar conflict that is intrinsic to the universe itself, at least that is the way it is seen by modern philosphy, both in the world of mortals, as well as in the world of the divine. The Eternal Dissonance represents the conflict between law and chaos. The Eternal Dissonance, or just The Dissonance as many call it, is more of a concept then a real and actual conflict. However, many events and physical conflicts are attributed to apart of The Dissonance. It is also believed by The Divines of our current age that far before their time the universe itself seemed to be in a eternal state of violence because of the extreme inbalances between law and chaos. Vecna, one of the most knowledgeable creatures known to the universe, has spent much time searching for answers about the universe pre-divinity. As of yet, he has found few conclusive answers, and his search has driven him mad after an encounter with The Tome of Time The only example of a conflict that persists, and that is fully attributed to be apart of The Dissonance, is The Malice War. The Malice War is the only true example of a physical conflict between chaos and law that is interplanar, and thus one of it's more famous names has become The Eternal Dissonance. This is an incorrect name, though very few know that to be the case.
