The Tome of Time
This so called tome, is so much more then that. It manifests in the physical as a tome yes, but in truth there is life within the tome. The true nature of whatever lurks within is unknown to all, and only one creature actually even knows that some life exists within the tome, that being Vecna. The Forsaken One tried to read through the tome, and found his mind shattered, as the contents were uncomprehensible even for him. There are however other creatures are aware of the Tome, though they are not fully aware of what this tome truly is. The reason other people know about this tome's lifeforce, is because since being opened by Vecna, a small part of it's essence escaped it's physical shackles, and traveled into the minds of other beings. This essence, though not truly sentient has given rise to what is known as The Church of Continuance, a cult who wish to free time itself from the shackles of the physical world, hoping to ascend into true enlightenment this way.
