Readmuse Range (RED-muse RANGE)
Description
A mountain range across the central-west part of Zivaria, defining the dry desert wilds in the east from the forests and fertile lands to the east. Only two routes are known to be reliably safe routes to cross the mountain range, without going all the way to the sea on the southern coast:- The Blue Passage, connecting Crossings Cave in the west to Salisson Grotto in the east.
- Shawholm Pass, a narrow road that follows the mountain streams between Z'Veena and The Avail Academy.
Myths & Legends
Folktales speak of a sleeping titan resting under the largest peak. Earthquakes, rockfalls and avalanches are a result of the titan's snoring. A conflicting legend says that rockfalls and avalanches are caused by mythical sky whales grazing atop the highest mountain peaks. Grazing what? Whatever sky whales eat, of course.
