The People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City

Structure

The People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City is governed by a council of 100 elected officials known as councilors, who legislate the laws of Zaldebrash City and have the final say on the interpretation of the laws of Zaldebrash City, although they rarely use the second power due to the sheer amount of time it takes.

Culture

The People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City was founded upon ideals of equality and freedom, and it remains true to those ideals. They work to ensure everyone in Zaldebrash City has a fair chance to better themselves and society as a whole, and they ensure that the freedoms of the people are maintained.   At least in theory, anyways. Corruption is slowly growing amidst the Council, with many councilors becoming puppets for economic oligarchs like Ilnafex Mordrayanath, making it so less and less of the individuals the Civil Rights Movement freed are getting a say.

Assets

The People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City still holds a potent military, although they use it far less than the Dictatorship of Zaldebrash City did. Furthermore, the People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City has a thriving economy and several factories, many of which were converted from making instruments of war to instead make necessities for the common people of Zaldebrash City.

History

At the tail end of the Civil Rights Movement, the Dictatorship of Zaldebrash City disbanded. The people eventually settled on a democratic system in which 100 people would be elected every few gyles to be councilors, each councilor having equal say on legislation.   The first decisions of the council were to depower the police force (so that no future coups would occur, as retaliation from the former members of the Dictatorship of Zaldebrash City was expected) and to strike from the law all of the discriminatory laws of their predecessors.

Demography and Population

The population is vast and varied within Zaldebrash City, with many ancestries within, including angels, dwarves, dragons, elves, ghouls, humans, minotaurs, orcs, pixies, sphinxes, vampires, and many many more.

Territories

The People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City occupies Zaldebrash City exclusively.

Military

The People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City maintains a notable military force, but they do not use it often.

Technological Level

The technological and scientific level of the People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City is equal with modern technology and steadily growing, albeit they established it through different means. Although Zaldebrash City has a lot of the same capabilities we do, theirs is more driven by means of arcane magic and arcanotechnology. For example, instead of having phones, they have sending stones, and movies are not shown via projector, but instead via illusion magic.

Religion

Religion is notable component of the lives of the populace, with many religious organisations in Zaldebrash City. This means that many religions also have their followers in the Council, although they tend to have no more say in legislation than the average citizen of Zaldebrash City.   No religions are explicitly forbidden, although few look upon the Cult of the Dragon Queen kindly.

Foreign Relations

The People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City maintains strong diplomatic relations with the Republic of Aladar, the Federation of Deep Seion, the Constitutional Queendom of Hissatla, and the United Peoples of Zahenni.   The People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City has voiced disapproval of the Cult of the Dragon Queen, although they have not taken further action yet.

Agriculture & Industry

Likely the strongest part of the People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City is their industrial force, since they have numerous factories supplying goods for the military and the common people equally.

Education

The People's Democracy of Zaldebrash City ensures that education is well-funded, so as to prevent the spread of misinformation as much as possible and to lead to the betterment of the individual and society at large.

Infrastructure

Taxes help pay for much of the infrastructure of Zaldebrash City, including the sewers, roads, hospitals, temples, and much more.
