000 - Arriving in Cime

Having each received their invitation to travel to Zakkazana Island, three very different people made their way to the city of Cime in Ospana.  

Thoma

Thoma arrived in Cime a few days early, being dropped off in the port by his ship. He made his way to a local sailors tavern, of which there are many in the city. Speaking to locals, he was able to find somewhere to find supplies. He bought gunpoweder and commissioned a small dagger-like metal attachment.  

Lox

Lox arrived in the city the day before the arranged date. He is not a fan of the city and, instead of spending any time there, headed straight out to the location identified on the invitation. He found a large wooden pole but not much else. He spoke to a bush who mentioned sky people, so he decided to camp out nearby to watch.  

Elionar

Elionar also arrived in the city the day before but, unlike Lox, decided to make his way to the most expensive hotel in the city. The Chimes is a large, extremely exclusive (/overpriced) establishment built into a private cove on the side of the city. He was greeted by a butler who clearly knew him and had a very comfortable night.  

13th Mirtul 1357

On the date stated on The Invitation to Zakkazana, Thoma made his way up to the defined location early. He found the pole and climbed it, not seeing Lox who was still hidden nearby.   Later that day, close to sunset, Elionar began his ascent of the hill outside of Cime.  

You follow the path indicated on the map out of the bustling city of Cime, away from the canals which take up a large portion of the city, and the breath-taking Todos los Santos Temple at its centre. The path leads you uphill for about half a mile, ending in a large grassy field. In the centre of the field you can see a large post about 20ft high secured to the ground. Next to the post you see two people. The first is a pale human woman with thick blond hair pulled back in a ponytail wearing a white sundress with blue flowers embroidered on to it. Next to her stands a red and black skinned Tiefling woman whose horns curl back around the thick black hair which cascades down her back. She is dressed in a modest blue dress with sensible looking boots and a satchel slung across her body. Neither woman is looking at you, but instead they are staring upwards. As you follow their gaze, you can a strange vehicle hanging in the sky overhead. It looks like a small ship, held aloft by an enormous brown and blue balloon. Movement appears on the deck, and you notice for the first time, a thick rope ladder hanging over the side, flowing all the way down to the ground and tied to the base of the post. The human woman notices your approach and gestures you forward. "Hello! Welcome honoured guests of Count Tymersy! My name is Mary and it is my great privilege to assist Sarah," she gestures to the other woman, "in ensuring your safe passage to Zakkazana Island." Sarah steps forward with a confident stride and a smile. "Welcome to the adventure of a lifetime. Be prepared to be awed and amazed. We are starting this journey as we mean to continue. This," she gestures up towards the sky," is Cloudsong, one of the first airships of its kind, and your gracious host, Count Tymersy, has chartered it for us today. I hope you aren't afraid of heights!"
