Humans

One of the most populous sentient species in Yyrda by the end of the Golden Era, humans weathered the storms of the Dragon War and the Age of Strife better than most due to their adaptability, resilience, and ambition. By the dawn of the Era of Unity, they were the dominant species in the West, their supremacy embodied by the human-centric Kingdom of Falinor’s subjugation of the Westerland Realms and their over two-hundred-year reign.   Humans are also one of the most diverse sentient species in terms of biology, ideology, and even personality; while many share in the xenophobia of the dominant Falinorian culture, many other human peoples are more welcoming of nonhumans, with some freely intermingling with and intermarrying among the dwarven, elven, and halfling peoples of the Central Realms, and a few even finding a place among more distant peoples of the Morgani Lowlands and beyond.

Conflicts in ideology and profound disagreements in values and ethics also mark human civilization more than most, resulting in an often brittle tension between their capacity for unity and cooperation and their penchant for internal strife and refusal to learn from the past. While one of the least innately magical of the sentient species, humankind has among the most diverse religious pantheons [see WIP].   See also:
