Caves of The Abyss

A large connected network of tunnels and caves, with all kinds of dark areas in it the caves of the abyss are the largest connected cave system in the entire world with a whopping network of about 722 miles in length stretching a massive distance across the continent. These caves are filled with creatures of all kinds, more and more dangerous the further you go into their depths; although great treasures and rewards come for those that brave them. From all recorded ventures the caves have been seen as a natural formation, though dwarven and dark elven cities have been found down deeper into the caverns with occasional rock gnome abodes among the higher parts. Deep down into the caverns, some say they have seen terrifying entities abound, red glowing eyes deep in the caverns just staring at them, or even creepy sounds, sometimes like laughter down in the depths of the deeper parts of it   Dwarven Cities: Dwarven cities filled once with dwarves of all kinds and races have now been long evacuated and abandoned leaving behind everything they once held dear. Nobody truly knows why the dwarven cities have gone like this though some attribute it to darker forces taking place, or occasionally people will say that the dwarves faced assault by the dark elves and were taken captive by them. Nobody knows the true reason, but anybody in the dwarven ruins can confirm that there is a good amount of loot and treasure in them, albeit a lot of danger as well   Dark Elf Cities: The dark elves (Or Drow) of this world live in cities and civilizations much like the forgotten realms, and live in societies much like those. Their cities are always inhabited, whether by themselves or other creatures down in the depths   Along the way of the caves there are quite a few varieties of caves and different formations in the caves along with different kinds of encampments set up from previous adventurers into the depths of the cavernous system. Large underground water reserves of this cave system are common, as well as calcite deposits and occasional gem troves for those miners who go down that far
