Order of the Phoenix

The Phoenix Riders: Keepers of Peace and Betrayal     The Phoenix Riders were an elite and secretive order within the Pendragon Knights, established by King Arthur I, the legendary Merlin Ambrosia, and Thrawn the Brave Heart, Arthur’s mighty Red Dragon. These knights were the Dovahkiin, dragon riders tasked with upholding peace and justice across Northern Azure, much like the Jedi Order of old. They were revered throughout the realm, working alongside the Gate Keepers to ensure stability and balance.   Yet, even the greatest of orders are not immune to corruption. Greed, ambition, and betrayal took root within the Phoenix Riders, igniting the flames of the War of the Ancients. The greatest traitor of all was Governor Abraham Harker, remembered as the Great Betrayer. His treachery plunged the land into chaos, leading to the death of nearly all dragons. In the war’s tragic aftermath, King Arthur IX was left with no choice but to disband the Phoenix Riders on the 30th of Luna, Year -1 AD, forever marking the end of an era.   For 500 years, the Phoenix Riders existed only in legend.   The Rebirth of the Order In the reign of King Arthur XVIII, fate took a dramatic turn. On the 7th of Cupid, 500 CD, the Phoenix Riders were reestablished, after a shocking discovery by Shining Eclipse, an adventuring guild affiliated with Acquisitions Incorporated Franchise K in the Soteropolis Region. This guild had forged an unexpected connection with the Guardians—a revered assembly of twelve dragons, chosen by Drako and Io to lead the Stewards of YonZora. Even more astonishingly, the adventurers unearthed six dragon eggs, reigniting hope that dragons—and the Phoenix Riders—might rise once more.   But this rebirth was not without danger. In the shadows, the Crimson Brotherhood, a secretive and growing power in the Soteropolis Region for the past 400 years, had been working toward its own ends. Lillian Harker-Oakencrown, widow of the Great Betrayer, was now at its helm. Worse still, it was discovered that she possessed the only surviving dragon from the War of the Ancients—a black dragon named Shurikan. Once a wyrmling, Shurikan had grown into a fearsome adult, and had sired at least one silver dragon with the wicked Thanika, Queen of the Silver Hearts Clan.   Recognizing the stakes, King Arthur XVIII appointed a historic new leadership for the Phoenix Riders—one that broke centuries of tradition. For the first time in the Order’s history, its highest ranks would be held by non-humans. The Grand Master of the Phoenix, or Supreme Commander, was named as Dimmir Brightlite, a wise and battle-hardened Satyr. His Executive Officer (Commandant), second-in-command of the Order, was Marik Blight, a formidable Tiefling warrior.   With the Phoenix Riders reborn, a new generation now takes up the torch to reclaim the legacy of the Dovahkiin. Yet, with old enemies rising, dragons returning, and dark forces gathering, the balance of Northern Azure stands on the edge of a blade.
