King Heart Penguin
Anatomy
King heart penguins reach about 3 metres in height in both males and females. These animals have a bright colouration, a combination of blacks, greys, whites and reds. They are most famous for their red, non-anatomical heart-shaped patterns between their three wings.
Like all other flightless birds on the planet, king heart penguins have three wings and three tails. This is an evolutionary advantage and when swimming, these birds will pick up more speed when swimming while spiralling. Their three feet act as propellors as they manouvre in a complex figure of eight, while their wings control their direction.
Diet
King heart penguins are carnivorous and are active hunters. They eat small animals such as fish, crustaceans, sometimes other birds, and very rarely larger animals.
These birds are very skilled hunters. They use their ability to remain completely still for hours on end and stand at the edge of icebergs, staring down into the water and watching for fish and other animals to swim past. If this is unsuccessful, king heart penguins will dive into the water and stalk large prey, such as slow-whales. They will stalk their prey in deep waters, gathering in colonies to bring down said prey.
Royalty
As a seemingly stoic species, king heart penguins are valued by royal rulers. These penguins are kept by a large number of rulers of different kingdom subsections. The animals are social, and must be kept in groups, and in most cases these penguins are the person pets of these prestigious people.
In older times, king heart penguins were frequently hunted for their feathery coats. These coats were worn by royalty, but due to so many of these animals being hunted, they became extremely rare and laws were put in place to protect this species. It is now illegal to kill a king heart penguin, even in self-defense.
Ah, it's nothing, Mochi. I just gave ya a name.
