Ayrith

This settlement lies 360 miles north of Pernrith, and 60 miles south of Fallcrest; both along the King's Way.   Ayrith is a beautiful small town with a small tower on the eastern border. Within the tower resides the Rizzen Balzebeard, an Earth Genasi alchemist. He has put up a notice on the town noticeboard, asking for help with his experiments. If the players agree to help, he will provide them with a Bag of Tricks, two pouches containing Dusts of Disappearance (one of which will accidentally contain a Dust of Sneezing and Choking) and a pouch of Shrazz'n Powder. The players must take a pouch containing Dust of Dryness to a nearby river (30 miles northward), as they cannot use the town well without making the town lose their water supply. They must empty the pouch, collect the bead that forms, then return to Ayrith and enter the farm of Maeral Inonorin and plant 5 magical beans that Rizzen has enchanted. Once all 5 beads have been planted within a 15ft x 15ft area of dirt, they are to break the bead in the middle of the area. The farm is within view of the tower and Rizzen wishes to observe the effects of planting and watering the beads. The beads will grow, producing a giant beanstalk from the centre one, with 10 shriekers growing up around it, which immediately start screaming, causing a Bulette to burst from the ground nearby and attack nearby creatures every minute until the shriekers are destroyed or otherwise silenced. Additionally, the bean sprout grows 3 low branches in a radial pattern, each of which has 8 fruit growing on it. Out of these 24 fruit, 7 have the effect of magic potions, one acts as a poison, and the other 16 have the effect of feeding a person for one day. The branches vanishes after 1 hour. Picked fruit remains, retaining any magic for 30 days. Finally, 5 eggs can be found from a nest in one of the branches. Any creature that eats an egg must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw. On a successful save, a creature permanently increases its lowest ability score by 1, randomly choosing among equally low scores. On a failed save, the creature takes 10d6 force damage from an internal magical explosion. If the characters manage to climb the beansprout, they find that it leads to a cloud giant's castle. When they discover the castle, the three characters each roll on their dice of fate. If the combined roll is greater than 9, then the Giant is Good and is friendly to the party, offering them a Potion of Cloud Giant Strength. If the combined roll is 9 or less, then the giant is evil, and attacks. Once the giant is slain, the castle begins to crumble, and the bean sprout begins to wilt. The characters must attempt to descend the sprout within the 5 minutes it takes to decay. Us the layout and stats of Zephyros on page 33 of Storm Kings Thunder for the Castle and Giant.
