Hunters
A spirit of rebellion was born. The influence of the Kjurvog spread like wildfire across the surrounding land, growing hotter as it challenged the old ways. Laws and regulations, the necessary burdens that have ensured the long-term survival of their people, were despised. Needless. Restrictive. Carrying their burdens became too much of a burden, especially when compared to their free-spirited counterparts. This would change the face of Trel and some of the others. Rebellious youths breathed new life into the old ways, looking to their allies with envy, born of ignorance, ignorant of the sacrifices they took. Few would realize the reality of those who rode with the Vampires. Their longing to be freed of responsibilities, laws, and the expectations of the sea of tutors and magistrates, the same expectations that drowned out the creative sparks of many, would become the foundation for the Hunters. A new face of delinquency was made.
Youths from across the alliance idolized what they saw as raw, barbaric living. It opposed their customs. Their people were old and established, many of whom sought peace and longevity, in contrast to the daring escapades that permeated the northern legends. For many youths, this idealization of the North became a major part of their identities. Attempts at imitation eventually led to the formation of the Hunters. Youths flooded the streets in packs, wandering the back roads and haunting scenic spots, denouncing their cultural identities, claiming bonds of brotherhood with those they deemed worthy of their endeavors.
In the fashion of the Kjurvog, or what they'd been made to believe, the youths walked in packs, carrying wooden swords and make-shift clubs, living in their fantasy world. Dogs, draped over their shoulders, were carried around, an imitation of the fur cloaks used in the north. Squabbles over who 'owned' minor shops and made-up districts were the intermission between the daydreams of what their futures would hold when they'd finally escape to the north. Time spent at the various rivers, throwing rocks in the ceaseless currents, filled each day. Yearly, the bravest of youths would try to disguise themselves, intermingling with the returned Kjurvog. Those who successfully blended in would return with grand stories of encountering the Vampires during the competitions.

Coming of Age Rites
Bands of Hunters are rarely seen as adults. The dream must, like many others, die with the wild imaginings of youth. Many leave their packs behind as they inherit family businesses or ride off to other provinces in the search for more fulfilling work opportunities. Some keep in contact, meeting routinely with their packs to catch up and reminisce on the old ways. Sometimes friends seek employment in the same places, though it is rare for more than two people in a pack to work in the same place. The dream dies with adolescence, replaced with the responsibilities and lives that they'd promised never to adhere to.
However, this is not always the case. There have been rumors of Hunters who've slipped from the bureaucratic clutches of the Trel, forsaking their heritage to forge their own mark on this world. Their determination, resentment, and-often malice have driven these souls forward. Bands of Hunters seldom venture into the sullen north, instead finding their destiny lurking in the southern lands.
