The Pantheon of Light

The Pantheon of Light is the most common pantheon in the world of Xeovis. The gods within the Pantheon of Light are worshipped by over ninety percent of the world's denizens, and the months are named after the gods within the pantheon. The Pantheon is led by Alsa, the Goddess of Light.   While she is the head of the pantheon, she respects the others in her pantheon, as she understands that her ways are not for everyone.   Alsa, the Goddess of Light Alshai, the Goddess of Darkness and Shadows Kharin, the God of Fortune and Bounty Rabinan, the God of Water and Frost Athalra, the Goddess of Life Nevitheon, The Father of Storms   None of the gods have been seen on Xeovis in at least two hundred years, though Alsa came down from the heavens to intercede in the usurpation of the throne within Ideia, personally protecting and blessing Queen Tilda Claymore to save her life. Though Queen Claymore more closely identified with Rabinan due to her affinity with frost and water magics, she was given the affinity with Holy/Light magic as well due to the divine blessing of Alsa. This allowed her to save herself and defeat the usurpers.   The Pantheon of Light is not the only group of gods, but most other religions are shamanistic, venerating their elders and animals instead of the gods. The pantheon has no problem with this. However, they do have a problem with The Cult of The Fallen, which seeks to bring The Fallen back into Xeovis, after all the work that went into cleansing them from the world after their attempt to send Xeovis into the Shadow Realm. The gods of light, as well as clerics, mages, and knights throughout the world fought off the incursion, which led to The University's Island city of Onin being lost to the world, as it was the site where the fallen had been sealed. Many people lost their lives that day, and the world lost The University, which was still in its infancy.   After the fight with The Fallen, the gods returned to the heavens to rest. Many had been beaten badly and sported wounds that normally would never be seen on a god, but the strength of The Fallen, and the weapons that they used had the ability to damage gods, and upon the dispatch of the wielder, the weapons disappeared as well, so no one could ever figure out how it was done. Likely, it was Tyrellion's influence on the blade through an enchantment.

Temples

Most temples dedicated to the Pantheon of Light are open-air and contain all six gods. However, there are occasionally shrines and temples dedicated to a single god within the pantheon. The three most common temples dedicated to single gods include Kharin and Rabinan which are usually built by sailors, worshipping either Kharin or Rabinan. The former is usually shrines built by pirates or those seeking fortunes by finding treasure. The latter, Rabinan, is for most sailors, even those searching treasures and pirates, as they pray for fair winds and safe seas.   Kharin does not prohibit piracy or theft, though most nations do. However, more of his followers are farmers, though this is split between Athalra and Kharin. Many farmers will have shrines to both built on their land, since they are both essential to farming. Many of the larger operations also include Rabinan and Nevitheon. The former for rain, and the latter to protect them from the storms that he brings. Though, those who can afford those shrines usually build shrines to all six gods.

Clerics

The clerics that serve the pantheon of light are almost always champions of a single deity, as the cleric channels the divine power from that god. However, there are a few exceptions, such as Queen Tilda Claymore, who is blessed by both Alsa and Rabinan, though she is not a full cleric, she does spread the word of her deities, and has been called on by them.   Many clerics live life in a temple, reading and providing services to worshippers. Though some work as adventurers, especially those of Athalra, since they are life clerics, they can use her power to help save the lives of adventurers, and some more powerful clerics can also revive recently-deceased individuals.

Opposition

Though the Pantheon of Light is not the only set of Gods on Xeovis, due to the fact that most other religions are shamanistic in nature, they have no opposition to them. There are a couple other gods who are in existence and have not sworn to the pantheon, but they do not oppose the Pantheon of Light-- Possibly to avoid any retribution from them.   There is only one organization that The Pantheon of Light opposes: The Cult of The Fallen. They understand, however, that some within the organization are not followers, merely historians, which makes things difficult in the war against them. One of Talareon Kazrani's tasks in the past was hunting and destroying cult followers before their plans could come to fruition.
