The Student Heist

The Student Heist is on of the strangest, most shameful events of Estalian history.   One fateful night, a group of students from The Grand College, visiting a friend within the city, ended up going on a bit of a bender. After visiting several fine establishments, they somehow ended up - not just within The Sedile - but within The Estalian Civic Archives itself. This was not the first time that outsiders had ended up within the archives, however, all previous occurences had resulted in the intruders becoming lost within its labyrinthin corridors, where they were either rescued by the archivists (or were unfortunately found too late). Unfortunately, these students were so intoxicated that it was impossible for them to get lost, as they already had no idea where they were before reaching the archives.   Their success was only noted the following day, when, while on their way back to the college by way of Aedia, they found the blade of a sword packed within their luggage. By chance or by fate, the students had made their way to the storage room which hosted Xarn's Blade, somehow broke it in half (leaving the handle on the steps of the Sedile), and then packed it for travel. The only witness to their crime was a random passerby who, in the wee hours of the morning, saw a group of drunk, young adults waving around a blade, and rightly decided to give them a wide birth.   Unclear of what they had in their possession, the students surrendered it to the Queen's Wardens upon their arrival. Aedian antiquarians were able to correctly identify the artifact, and gift it to the royal family.   No one has been officially punished for the heist, however, the Estalian government has a standing warrant for their arrest.
