Autocarts
With the advent of trains, such as The Iron Rivers and The Kingsroad, inventors within Estalian workshops became hard at work to create a new form of transportation free from the limitation of tracks. Over the years, many creations were tested, with a wide variety of forms, from long-legged walkers to hovering craft to devices even stranger still. Of these vehicles, only the autocart was successful and remains in use to this day.
The appeal of the autocart is its simplicity. Typically consisting of converted horse wagons, autocarts are fitted with a Kinetic Engine and a gearbox connected directly to the pre-existing axles. This simplicity has allowed for them to be adopted for many different applications, ranging from the "toad carts" of the Vagari to large war wagons of The Silver Legion. Even one of the apparent difficulties of operating these kinds of vehicles - the supply of sufficient Sparkpowder to run them - are mediated by their simplicity, as they can be partially pulled by horses over long trips, using the original body frame.
Although many can see the potential of these vehicles, their usage is currently limited to commercial and industrial purposes. These typically supplement train lines, either moving freight from train stations to nearby locations, or as parallel services run by traders unable to afford the train rates. However, every day, with increased productions of kinetic engines, more and more autocarts are created, allowing for easier travel over time.
