The Sages of Skyring

Good food in the cafeteria though."Based in Vaseldia, the capital of Dornham, the Sages of Skyring are an Academy of Magic of great import. More than just a school for the arcane arts, Skyring Tower is home to Dornham's most powerful mages, and is dedicated to making increasingly big strides in arcane fields. The schools which the academy focuses most on are Evocation, Divination, Enchantment, and Transmutation, though Illusion was once one of the largest departments. Conjuration is widely underfunded and discouraged due to some recent events. The Sages of Skyring focus not just on teaching, but also on discovery, putting forth massive efforts to create new spells, research new enchantments, and make powerful magic items. They are selective in who they choose to admit, only selecting those that they believe both possess the magical potential to become powerful, as well those who are not afraid to perform potentially dangerous work in the name of knowledge. Though the group is one of the pre-eminent mages organizations in Wulsten, they have a reputation among the magic community for throwing caution to the wind and putting themselves and others at risk. They are frequently at odds with the Circle of the Fallen Tower in Orlec

Structure
The Sages of Skyring have a strict structure of rankings for their members, which goes as follows, starting at the least powerful rank and going to the most powerful:
The Grand Sages serve as headmasters for the Academy, and direct the goals of the Sages of Skyring. There are typically four Grand Sages, each determining one of the primary schools of magic that the tower focuses on. There are currently only three grand sages, following the death and betrayal of Grelsan Alfred. However, Rowan Northstar, a member of The Royal Court, is currently undergoing the process of becoming a Grand Sage.
