Codex of Worlds
The Codex of Worlds is the catalog of every world and plane that has manifested in the Kirinal Pit. Each one receives a unique designation based on the date it first appeared, whether it's a distinct plane or a different Prime world, and the Call assigned to it by the Surveyor of Worlds when it first appeared. The Codex also keeps track of how many times it has appeared in the Pit. My friend, the Surveyor of Worlds keeps the original copy in the Surveyor's Office in Chagroth's Tower. All residents of the Kirinal Concordance Zone can access it with their ident-a-hedron whenever necessary.
There's one world in particular that the Navigator tries to avoid, Penumbra the forgotten home world of the flayers. I earned my surname the last day it manifested. A fleet of nautiloids besieged the Zone, seeking the Staff of Ancient Penumbra, one of the artifacts that powers the Orrery of Worlds. I dove off the Tower and took the head of the fleet's commander. It's all documented in that one Copper Chronicle about me!
The Codex of Worlds is the official registry of every plane and Prime world that has ever Manifested in the Kirinal Pit.
Each entry receives a unique designation determined by:
Plane Type: Prime, Outer, Inner, Far, etc.
Date of Manifestation: e.g., the 3rd Shatter of Tasagem, 3208 F.A.
The Call: The Diver's Cypher, e.g., Horn 2 Prime Earth-828 Humaoid Population 3 Magic 1 Tech 6
Manifest Count: How many times the world has manifested
Lodestar Beacon ID: The magical identifier that allows the Orrery of Worlds to locate it for future visits.
Structure of an Entry
Each entry in the Codex follows a standardized format developed by the Surveyor and perfected over time.
Ixalian
(Inhabitants name for the world, if any)
Beacon ID: H2P-09233227
Stands for Horn 2 (Day of War), P for a Prime world, date of first manifest.
The world of Ixalian is ruled by vampires and has manifested on both Prime and Shatter twenty times over the years. Its first appearance resulted in a catastrophic breach of the Bastion of Borthakar. It remains a hostile civilization and is an automatic Horn 2.
Access and Use
The original copy is maintained by Two, The Surveyor of Worlds and kept in Chagroth's Tower. Anyone with an ident-a-hedron can query the Codex, receiving summaries, historical records, and the Calls for each world. Sages, traders, and the military all use it daily.
Formal vs. Informal Designations
World's use their known names whenever possible, preferably the inhabitants' preferred name. Many manifest worlds are uninhabited and officially known only by their Beacon ID. For many worlds that only appeared one time, or weren't memorable, that designation works.
But memorable words get nicknames from the Kirinalo populace. Some include: "The Tower of Flesh", "The Sea of Sweet Wine", and "The Empty Heaven"
The Infinite Earths Dilemma
Of all the worlds in the Codex, the most interesting are the E-Series Prime Worlds, a seemingly infinite parade of very similar worlds known as Earth.
Each one insists that it is the "true" Earth, bringing along their own contradictory naming conventions: Earth 616, Earth Prime, Earth-52, and countless others.
The Codex classifies them as EP variants, assigning them sequential numbers in order of their appearance. The Isekai of the Zone have their own sorting philosophy that only they seem to understand.
So your Earth has no magic. It's the year 2025. And the president is... Oh no! You poor bastard!

Lol that last quote. This is probably a fascinating document to browse. I, er, have some questions about the Tower of Flesh, though.
