The Ancient Sorcerer’s Athenaeum

The Ancient Sorcerer’s Athenaeum is an interdimensional building/pocket dimension housing a wide range of mythical relics and books and the headquarters of The Seekers of Light. All relics are here to protect Mankind’s future.   This building is linked, by a metaphysical anchor via New York Public Library in New York City, to the Human World. It is possible to cut the anchor if necessary.   This place is on the top ten of secured places on Earth.   The Mystical Library has power that comes from three primeval trees. These are colloquially, Earth’s Mystical Library Hearts. Each represents something and all are extremely powerful. If any of them is hurt or dies, the Library and Humanity will start to suffer the same fate.   If all of them die, knowledge and wisdom and creativity and curiosity will depart from this world.   The first, The Tree of Knowledge and Wisdom, is the same supposed tree whose fruit was eaten by Adam and Eve. This is speculation but there is some who believe it is that same tree. Despite its age and importance, the Tree is very small and young-like as knowledge itself is always evolving and never complete.   The Tree of Good or Evil is the second tree. It will be the tree which stays good if they control it. Evil can control the tree and decorative structure of this place if they get hold of it.   The Tree of Mystical Earth, last but not least. This tree is from the early days of Ancient Power. It was used as a symbol of truce and unity between magic users during Atlantis and Lemuria’s first time on Earth.   All of the items for Ancient Power were built from the wood of this tree. This tree is a sacred object for those in the community.     Magical wood: Its branches can be cut and used to craft high-level powerful artifacts of power.   Immortality and Energy: These trees are thousands or millions of years old and therefore, eternal. They can be injured by a powerful attack. Only certain powerful spells could destroy these trees. They are used as the power source for the Library and have been ever since its creation.   High-Level Magic: Despite immortality, the trees can be damaged or destroyed by powerful and high-level magic.   Death of AEP: AEP will cause the Library and many things on Earth to weaken and then disappear.  

Rooms, Wings, and Sections

The Ancient Sorcerer’s Athenaeum has grown to its’ current size in the modern day. It can and will grow bigger when it needs to.   So far, sixteen rooms of different proportions are seen in the current Library.   One of the biggest is the Large Collections Annex. It stores Noah’s Ark, Trojan Horse, and others. The other known big room, the Sun Room, contains the Nemesis Star (second sun).   The Antiquities Room is the oldest room in the Library. It has many powerful artifacts from the Greco-Roman era. The Modern Artifact Wing is the newest wing holding artifacts created in modern times. A room of time machines is also here but they are locked down and taken apart so nobody can ever use them.   Animals live in the Massive Zoological Park Wing. Mystical Species and cryptids mainly live here although dinosaurs can also be seen here.   Two sections that are not normally in use are Ancient Power and Christmas Magic. Their items and books are most often in the Ancient Power Archives in Christmas Valley. But once a year, the Guardians host a conclave in the Library. Their items are on display for a week.   This makes up Power Wing of Earth.   The next room bridges collection rooms and working areas. The Scholar’s Book Collection and Reading Room has the largest collection of actual books, some being of actual magic while others are deadly for magic. This room serves as the iconic image of a Library.   Rooms that are not collection rooms include two places that are not rooms. The Library’s Chamber of Memories, affectionally called the "Candle Room", is a room of candles. Each candle is linked to the soul of somebody who is connected to the library. If the candle is burning the person is still alive and if not they are a memory.   The Eternal Protector’s Dual Office serves as a catalog of objects and books throughout the Library. It also is where they can cut the anchor to the real and outside world.   The Corridor of Doors are portals to locations inside and outside the Library. Due to any unforeseen and complicated circumstances, there is a backdoor secret entrance into the library through an airshaft. The door is hidden behind a bookcase that slides out of the way when the door is open. It is near the Corridor of Doors.
