Once upon a time, there were four
04

After arriving at Klikkeput we decide to start by buying some provisions, luckly it isn't very expensive and we manage to hoard enough for around one to two weeks of exploration on the mountain, before we go we decide to check the notice board to see if we can make some extra money on the side, turns out there was a halfling trying to get some artifacts from the mountains and he was willying to pay a decent coin for it, George small-barrel's his name, we agree on the terms and decide to leave for the mountains on the morning, we familiarize ourselves with the city layout meanwhile and spend the night on the tavern, Jericho our rogue and Rohan the monk try to collect some information about the mountains from the patrons, I was never good with these sort of thing so I decide to take a walk out and enjoy the moon, I noticed a pair of clients talking behind the corner of the store, I get close just in time to hear them talking about some mysterious creature living on the mountains, it seems there's a giant worm that leaves some sort of purple crystal behind on it's trail, I approach them to try to gather some more information but they are scared by me and run away from me dropping a crystal that looks eerly like the one they were describing, guess old habits die hard, I reunite with the rest and we share what we learned, a tribe of orcs, a lantern that never goes out and a mysterious beast, surely one of those things can help on my quest. The day breaks anew, my night was filled with visions from my patron, seems like I will slowly learn more of his magics as I grow stronger, for now I only have a small ones but they are already pretty funny, I hope to have an opportunity to use them on the mountains. We pack our things and set out for earthspur mountains, we decided to make kyrith our guide since she was the most knowledge one about survival tactics, a decision that quickly translated on a terrible choice, we got lost for almost three days inside the forest, but eventually made it to the ruins we were aiming for, we sleep for the night and take turns to stay on watch, I got the last one just before sunrise, just in time for the first opportunity to try out my new powers, an arrow quickly flies by me, I try to see where it came from and I notice that it came from a rock outcrop near our camp, shortly after two more arrows fly on my direction, I can't react fast enough and end up with two holes on my chest, I shout out for the rest of the group to wake up and take arm, Jericho manages to see their shadows behind the outcrop and throw an oil flask over it, Kyrith uses her magic to heal my wounds and Rohan prepares to charge at them, the goblins are fast and manage to hit Jericho just as he spots them, an arrow right through the guts, another arrow flies on my direction but this time I can see my assailant, I conjure the infernal flames gifted to me by my patreon and manage to immolate the goblin who fired at me, the rest of the oil is set on fire and the goblins scatter through the forest, we decide that it was not worthy pursuing them and we should tend to Jericho first, we continue our journey and end up finding some ruins that look like a fallen temple, it's adorned with painted skulls and orcish symbols, we shouldn't be there, and the two orcs that decided to charge at us from the shadows are a clear indication of that, but against any odds it seems that Rohan managed to calm down the orcs and communicate with them, we say we mean no harm and Rohan even manage to strike a deal with the orc shaman, I show them the crystal I got from the guys at the tavern, they seem afraid of it at first, the weaker orc makes some sort of wave motion with his hand while the shaman tells me grumash, no idea what it means but I will remember it, we got what we wanted from them, Rohan and Kyrith each got one of the items from the shaman, he turns to leave and I signal to Jericho to come out of hidding and kill one of the orcs, impressively enough he finishs the shaman with a single attack while the rest of us gang up on the weaker orc, he doesn't even have a chance to put up a fight, but that's what they get, never turn your back to the buyer, Jericho hides the bodies under some tree roots and we keep moving along the coast of the mountain eventually coming across an abhorrent looking sand obelisk, we decided that the events of the day were enough and decide to take a break to eat before trying to do anything about the monolith in front of us.

New friends or future enemies...
03

After I stumbled out of the cave I met my "savior", a girl by the name of Kyrith smithy, it seems that this gauntlet on my left arm was her creation, and she was looking for a "worthy vessel" for almost 2 years now, from what I understood the gem on the gauntlet is actually an entity trapped there, and it decided to keep me alive thanks to our interests in common... things aren't clear for me yet but it seems she's useful, despiste the crazy spark on her eyes I cannot deny the strenght of the steel on my arm, we sleep on the forest that day and pack stuff on the break of dawn, it seems there's still heat on us after the whole raid thing so we decide it's better to look for another place to settle for the time being, I'm not particularly sure why but I feel strongly drawn towards the mountains of earthspur so we decide to hitch a ride on a caravan there, we managed to find one just north of Valls that would follow the great Impharas River to klikkeput, It seemed to be a small enough city to start a new life or to pass the time until we figure out what to do, on the way there the caravan make a stop to get a monk on his pilgrimage he ends up on our cart, seems like a very day-to-day kind of guy, very shortly after there's another stop, I look over to see a shadowy figure passing some coins to the caravan master and coming over to our cart, I try to keep to myself but they all seem to be getting a long, I phase out for a moment and I hear my patron saying: "They have potential, use it", when I returned from my lapse they were all playing some card game together, I decide to join in and get to known them, it seems they are all looking to go to klikkeput, I don't ask too much about their reasons, I have mine, and I'm sure they have their's, we decide to start a party, despiste diverging objectives it would seem our path allign very well, four people are better at staying alive than only two, the journey take a little under a week but finally klikkeput is on sight, I wonder how long until I can go back and hunt down those dammed cultists who betrayed us. I reminisce my brothers one last time looking over the mountains "I hope they survived...".

A new chance far too late
02

I slowly regain conscious, but there's only darkness around me, I thought to myself: "huh, so this is the afterlife, too bad those bastards aren't here to share in the joys of it with me... ah god, I'd given anything for a chance to get back at them, I won't let them get away with it" truly, the last thing I expected was an awnser... "Interesting" the word echoes in my head like a thousand drums on my ears and a million of needles on my skin, I lose conscious again but my mind is awake, awake in a feverish dream, an endless darkness extends itself infront of me, not like the one before, I could feel the ground bellow me, I could feel myself but here... there was nothing, it felt like an eternity could go by in the blink of an eye, or in this case, a thousand of them, points all around me, looking at my soul from every direction, a voice that sounds distant and at the same time like it was coming from inside me says: "I can give you a chance for vengeance, all I ask in exchange is that you help me get back out of here" I look around and I noticed a gauntlet on my arm, with a black gem on it, but as soon as my eyes lay on it, it opens revealing a yellow and red eye looking back at me, I hesitate for a moment, but I already made my choice, as soon as I think about saying it all the eyes seem to fly in front of me creating a pitch black form, it then extends a hand to me, I grab and shake it, and as soon as I feel it's touch my conscious jolts awake with flashbacks and images, images of a war against a unfathomable creature, of heroes chosen by a god destined to destroy it, but they were weak, they only managed to seal it away, my eyes are dragged as the images flicker on my face and are all twisted into a small dark orb that flies to my arm, I look around after I regain control of my senses and sure enough, I'm again at the dark, but this time a solid dark, there's ground underneath me, there's air on my lungs, there's pain on my bones, I wander lost for a few seconds, I look at my arm and sure enough theres a gauntlet on there with a black gem, I'm not sure why but I already know the way out, I stumble on the darkness for what felt like an hour until I finally reach an exit, there's a human girl with a backpack setting a campfire, as soon as I step out she rushes to me and grabs the gauntlet on my arm, I think about retracting it but something tells me she's going to be useful to me, she examines the gauntlet for a moment, I think she is murmuring to herself but I'm still drozy form everything to understand her, she then looks at me with an awe in her eyes that looks almost unnatural, I got something very few can say they had, a second chance, and I'm not going to waste it...

An ending far too soon
01

I had returned from my vacation from my band, a successful heist and my promissed share convinced me it was time to take it easy, but money don't last forever so after having my share of fun I had to go back to the mercenary life, it's a simple enough life, I help some less than legal activities and get some coin out of it, I'm part of a small group of 5, we plan on oppening our own mercenary guild one day or maybe even start a private army. As soon as I arrive im greeted by my leader and he tells me that they were waiting for my arrival, it seems a big job has come and they will need all the hands available, a small local cult is planning a event on the outskirts of the city and we were hired to guard it, a simple enough job, we don't ask questions and they don't flunk our pays, half now half when it's over. The night was uneventful, we saw the robbed figures go in, we checked that they all had the mark of the cult, a pretty standard thing really, but after one hour or so we start hearing screams coming from inside, we rush in to see what's going on and we realize there are guards inside, they seemed to have been teleported inside, I ready my hammer my friends are with me, the cultists run past us, we stall for time but when we turn around to try and escape we realized the cultist have trapped us with the guards and set fire on the entrance, the guards start to panic pushing us and we fight, everything spirals out of control I ran to the center of the room to see if there was another exit but the floor collapsed under me, I don't even remember how it happened or why, but as I fell down to certain death, couldn't help but think how much I would love to have my chance at vengeance to those bastards who blocked me and my friends inside... A loud bump and my conscious starts to fade, a slender figure approach me holding something, but it's already too late to wonder what will happen next, I won't be here to see..
