Sygny Grimdottir

Sygny Grimdottir is the fifth child of Grimulth and Freygerd, and has grown up on their small farm in The Boil all of her life. Born into hardship most in Knotside would not have to endure she was raised with tough love, expected to fill in the cracks with trial and error of how the world worked. She toiled on the farm, and in the off seasons she spends her days chopping wood firewood at the mills or fishing in the streams nearby. When she was little she had dreamed of becoming an adventurer, but empty stomachs and cold nights made her realize that her place was with her family, trying to better the district in which she was born.   The Plague struck the boil, and her families farm struggled harder than ever, with the family having to fight for every ounce of produce they grew. She toiled harder, would chop wood and forage and hunt and fish every free second she had to feed her family. Years of watching the people in The Boil struggle made her bitter, and the more bitter she became the angrier she was, until a lifetime of injustices boiled over. They made do with what they had, and for what? Other districts prospered, they were able to rebuild from the ashes of the Plague, so why couldn't they? The next time an election rolled along she campaigned, and the rest of the people in the boil listened. She was louder than her opponents, angrier than her opponents, and promised to do more than her opponents. In the end her brash nature and in your face campaign style won over, and she was voted as the Magister of The Boil.   Her family lost her help on the farm, but with her campaigning and willing to be angry for the whole of her district, progress has been made. Government stipends are starting to flow to the families who continue to try and rebuild the district, and more research is being done on how to cleanse the land of the bad luck the plague brought. Despite her salary as a Magister she dresses as she would at home, in her smock, thick leather gloves, and simple peasants clothing. A reminder of where she comes from, and who she represents.
