Moses

Moses has lived in The Teeth working the docks since he was a young teen. Nobody in Knotside knows where he came from or what he did before living in the city, and it seems that Moses plans on telling nobody. He's worked in both New Harbour and The Teeth as a dock worker, occasionally joining a ships crew as muscle and he's done a few tours on the various fishing boats. Despite being well into his 40's he still works and helps around The Teeth, often helping with rebuilding efforts such as hauling materials, and helping with demolitions.   A few years ago, the old Magister, a kindly old dwarf, asked Moses if he'd run for Magister in his stead. The Teeth had been trying to get the funding for infrastructure and dock rebuilding since before the Plague, and are in dire need of the funds. They had tried bargaining, persuading, and all the diplomatic kinds, electing people that would be viewed as friends, or at least pitied enough to be given the funds. Now the residents of The Teeth are tired of playing nice, and figured that if kindness and diplomacy won't secure their funds, maybe a huge lumbering Minotaur could. Moses is known by nearly everybody in the district, and he's considered a staple, even if not known by name in the other districts nearly everybody knows of the burly old Minotaur whose presence has caused others like him to move to the city. He's helped free carriages stuck in the mud with his bare hands, has chased off smugglers and criminals, and helped rescue people from debris during a building collapse.   When Moses ran, nobody opposed him, and for the first time in Knotsides history a Magister ran unopposed, and won with a unanimous vote. He feels that he isn't the right person for the job, as he knows little about politics and how to run his district, but many citizens have offered up advice and services to handle the logistics for him, while he focuses on fighting the good fight during council sessions. The people hope that if they can't ask nicely for the funds, maybe Moses' imposing presence will do the job.

Moses is currently the Magister of The Teeth, despite his misgivings about his political career.

Moses rarely speaks beyond simple monosyllabic responses, usually grunting and shrugging in response. When he does need to speak he does so slowly, carefully choosing his words in his deep, rumbling voice.
