History
Founded by Queen Kendra Athomath after the Cardinal Dragons Accord, the Praetorian Order was designed as a stabilizing force under the newly unified Alagorian monarchy. The order’s presence became synonymous with the security and sovereignty of the High Throne.
Throughout their history, the Praetorians remained a constant during both golden ages and political unrest, offering nonpartisan protection to successive monarchs. They played pivotal roles during crises such as the Second Suain War and the Alagorian Civil War
Despite their military capability, they were primarily viewed as guardians rather than warriors.
Disbandment
The Praetorian Order was formally disbanded following the formation of the Sapphire Empire. Under the direction of the newly formed Ministry of Defense, the order’s functions were divided among newer empire-spanning military institutions.
The transition was conducted with formality and recognition. Veterans were offered honorary roles in new branches or state positions, and the Hall of Service was sealed as a national monument.
