The 5 martial Schools
'The 5 schools of Battle are spread across Vrethis, teaching those who prove themselves to be great warriors in the schools particular method of fighting. Masters of these schools are fearsome opponents for even the best swordsman or most powerful spellcaster.'
Structure
The individual schools are run independently from one another.
Each school has a grandmaster, who is the best warrior in the school. Under them will be the masters. The masters are the main tutors of the schools, and will each have a class of around 1-5 students. These are known as initiates, who have proven to have the skill, potential and discipline to be able to learn the ways of the school. Do not be fooled, the initiates are skilled warriors in their own rights, and are more than a match for most.
A small contingent of scholars, scribes and servants see to the day to day running of the school.
Culture
The schools have a strict code of honour and discipline, and practice scholarly ways and the arts along with their martial training. Respect is always given to those who have earned it, and even the youngest of initiates can earn their masters respect through great deeds of bravery and honour.
Assets
The schools grant protection to their local areas, and give service to the defence of their respective realms. In return they receive food and funding from the local farms and rulers.
