Dragons

'Dragons have been a part of our world since its creation, roaming the lands as the alpha predators. Since the Draconic Migration, few dragons are seen any more. Those that did stay have become Kings and tyrants of the wilderness, dominating the other monsters that live in the harsh wilds.'

Basic Information

Anatomy

Though there are many types of Dragon, they all share a similar morphology. All dragons have large scaley bodies, with 4 legs. Their forelegs have reverse joints like an arm, with more dexterous appendages than the rear legs. They have wings attached to their back, or wing adjacent limbs (see brown dragons). They have long necks that attach to large heads, filled with rows of sharp teeth. They also have long tails, which are used during flight. Finally, all dragons have some form of breath ability that they use for hunting and defence. These vary wildly from dragon to dragon, some being more powerful than others (Such as an Iron dragons Thermite breath).

Growth Rate & Stages

Dragons have very long lives, aging through different stages.
  • 0-50: Hatchling
  • 50-100: Young
  • 100-200: Adult
  • 200-400: Ancient

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

All dragons seem to have highly tuned senses, and can feel the presence of others around them. They also exude a force from them that puts fear into even the hardiest warriors heart. Not much is known as to how this ability works, only that it has been the downfall of many a hunter. Other abilities vary from Dragon to Dragon, for example Purple dragons have powerful Psionic abilities, Brown's can feel movement through sand, and Steel dragons have access to great magics.
