The God Slaying Javelin

In the Thirteenth Sar of the Bronze Age, there was a king who would not bend the knee or lower his head at the gods. His name was Jushur, and he defied the Gods and their servants.

For his defiance, a great scourge was brought on his kingdom, until naught but a glassy crater remained. Jushur was led to Meliheal the Great World Tree, and was cast out from the world itself.

Across numerous worlds he wandered, under skies and stars unknown. Wherever he went, very few will ever know. He made an oath before he left, that by his last breath, he would break the enforcer and free all of humanity.

And in the twilight of the Thirteenth Sar, Jushur returned. Old he was, broken by age and travel, wrapped in a dusty cloak. With him he carried a single javelin, plain in form, but also impossibly unique.

Brighter than silver and more beautiful than gold this Javelin's head was, but the Gods were not impressed. When they saw Jushur return, they laughed at what was a pitiful and ancient man.

Jushur yelled into the Heavens, "Come down ye gods and meet thy end! For thy dominion will be shattered and thy order undone!"

Ver-Cruzor heard his plea and brought the skyfortress low to mock him. He sent his angels to bring an end to the defiant man. Jushur however did not waiver.

With his final breath, he cast the Javelin with all his might. Bright than Silver and more beautiful than Gold the Javelin was, but it was also stronger than Adamant. It pierced the fortress, destroying its barrier, then tore through Ver-Cruzor's heart, slaying him.

An then the fortress fell and shattered in the Wastes of the Olimians. Then the Orcs scattered. Thus ended the Enforcer of the Gods and began the unraveling of the Bronze Age, and the long fight of the Ikaens towards freedom.
- Virtues and Cautions, Chapter XIII: The Defiant King, Verses 9-17

While several tales are known of the Misara in the Kingdom of Cassel, and in the Empire of Irellith many stories exist of the so-called God Slayer Blades, there was a legendary weapon that came before, the one that showed humans that Gods can be killed and they don't have to suffer under their rule. This weapon only appears in several verses in just one part of the scripture, one moment in all of human history, before it was lost and never found again. Despite this, the Mythril Javelin easily had the largest impact and is widely considered to be the most powerful weapon ever used by a human.

No material that can match the description of the Mythril spearhead has ever been found and it is unknown how the legendary king Jushur came across the spear. Popular belief says that Kalbeth the Moon Goddess met Jushur on his travels and gave him the Javelin. No further records exist.
Length: 250 centimeters
Weight: 2 kilograms

Materials (Spear): Mythril
Materials (Shaft): Unknown, speculated to be Wood from Meliheal the World Tree.

Enchantments: None, yet Mythril can cut through anything, even the Divine.

“You remind me of someone right now!” Xana said gently as she kneeled in the grass next to Saya. “There was once a man named Jushur...”

"Who?" Saya blinked at her, confused. "...Oh, the Defiant King. My parents made me read that stupid book when I was little"

"Well that's great! That means I don't have to retell it here!"

"So what did you mean I remind you of Jushur? Did you know him or something?"

Xana tilted her head, “How old do you think I am Saya? Yes you do remind me of him, the way you carry yourself, the way you are defiant against your fate. People only remember the part where Jushur returned with the javelin, but they don't talk about the centuries before that. They don't talk about the wandering and the exile. They don't know how many times he tried to build something to challenge the gods only to fail and wander again. They forget the centuries he spent doubting everything - his past, his purpose, even his right to exist."

Xana put an arm around Saya and pulled her close, "And that's why you remind me of him. You lost everything and your kingdom is about to shatter. And like him, you don't even know who you are right now. You may think you do, but you don't."

Saya didn't say anything. This was the thousandth time Xana had tried to tell her she was more than she was, but for Saya, she still knows what she did and she can't deny that. This story wasn't any different than the others. There was the Fifth Vernador of Cassel, the Banished Knight, and even the wandering Fire God.

"I know that look!" Xana said, her motherly voice cracking into her usual high pitched tone. "You don't see the parallel I'm trying to tell you here."

"Let me guess... The story isn’t about the javelin, or the fortress, or Ver-Cruzor, or the rest of the gods." Saya said, tapping each of her fingers as she went down the list. "It’s about old King Jushur. About how he lost everything, wandered alone, and still found the strength to come back, face his mistake head on, and avenge his kingdom?"

Xana blinked a few times then smiled, pleasantly surprised, "Uhm, actually yes! That's--"

"You keep telling me the same story!" Saya cut in, "Why?"

"Because you're the densest person I know!" Xana laughed. She stood up and shimmered with golden light, then reverted to her tiny fairy form. She flew up into the air before settling down and hovering in front of Saya's face.

Xana then tapped on Saya's nose making her flinch, "Look kid, Here's the point! you need to stop punishing yourself for things you can't undo! Jushur lost an entire kingdom and it didn't stop him from taking his vengeance! It didn't stop him from returning and throwing that javelin with all his might! You lost your parents and your little sister! You are still running away while your kingdom falls apart! Unlike Jushur you still have a kingdom to come back to, and you still have family, so what are you going to do?"
