Clydesdale

Clydesdale

Demographics

Mainly Vernan, but with a good amount of Mregians as well. Rezakians migrants are commonly seen here along with the odd Kalgitian.

Government

The town is currently owned as part of a Kiggran lords territory.

Defences

An old surrounding wall that protects the main port and the old town from attack. The wall has been repaired several times over it's long history.   Turrets were added to the sea facing wall to help defend against sea attack.   A military barracks was built here for marines and defensive troops.

Industry & Trade

Mainly boat production, from military to commercial vessels. The town is very industrialised, with several major factories exporting an assortment of parts or full constructed products.   Because it is a port city, it has a bustling fish market, which exports fish to the rest of the continent.

Infrastructure

The town specialises in building ships of all sorts and sizes, much of the infrastructure reflects this. The docks are extensive, sprawling from the old port which resides within defensive walls. A small fleet can be docked, repaired, and serviced here.   The town also has iron mills and factories that produce boat parts.

Guilds and Factions

Kiggrans flock to this town for it's masterfully built sea-going vessels.   There is a community of ship racing sportsmen here.

History

The town was a victim of one of the most devastating Rezakian pirate attacks during the Rezakian war.

Architecture

The wall surrounding the town is mostly made of cobblestone, with patches of newer material, and reinforcements that were added over time. The old town buildings mostly reflect this style, apart from the massive factories, made of corrugated metal and steel, with large chimneys that spew fire and smoke into the sky.

Geography

Clydesdale is in a beautiful spot on the Vernan coast, with a wonderful view of the mountain and Vernan capitol in the distance. A river runs through the town, coming from the mountain, down through the thick forests that surround clydesdale.

Fish is it's main natural resource, with wood being second.
