The Wailing Tower

The Wailing Tower began construction on a remote island on Mitherdil in the Milky Ways fifth era, after primitive civilization was able to rebuild following the Galactic Cataclysm. However, it was never completed. The builders who were commissioned with the towers construction started to experience disappearances and strange encounters. They had completed the sixth floor and started work on the seventh when some of the men began experiencing hallucinations, and odd happenings. Tools and materials would be found out of place or broken, and voices without source could be heard at night. One of the men decided to investigate the source of the voices, and fell from the top floor shortly after heading up the stairs. The rest of the workers concluded it was haunted by a malignant spirit, and abandoned the tower.

Originally meant to serve as a lookout, the tower is now a grim reminder of the mysteries of the world, and the locals avoid the topic in conversation. Ever since, people have heard disembodied screams coming from the tower, and dubbed it The Wailing Tower. Few folks ventured there after it was locked away, and only two actually returned, but they were forever changed and could never speak of what they saw upon the sixth floor.

The Son of Artemis explored this tower as a means to prove his heroism. He managed to discover the spirit was an ancient queen, however no civilization existed long ago to accommodate this queen, and her identity remained a mystery. The hero did manage to dispel her physical form after a long and tiring battle, but her spirit remained even after he left and began to re-manifest over the next thousand years.
