The Legend of Galren
Born during the time of heroes. At first a time of peace and prosperity for the Elven people of the continent Saaldorei (Vithrin), but soon became a time of adventure and wonder due to a curious phenomena called magic that was studied and harnessed by the people. Among these scholars is an elf from the Alanaes region named Galren.
Galren was incredibly cunning and was gifted with a greater ability to harness magical powers than his peers. Feeling as his home was holding him back, he left and ventured across the realm in search of something greater. Along his travels he met his two companions Nushala and Delmoth whom were similarly gifted as he. Having similar goals of fame and power, they set off to strike down a fierce beast that had ravaged the continent for centuries.
With their powers combined, the Arch Wizard, Hierarch of Justice, and Shadow Blade Rogue vanquished the beast thus starting the 1st age. Not soon after, our glorious companions went their separate ways. Nushala went to the lands north of Badur where she build her kingdom and ruled harshly but justly. Delmoth wandered the realm, never staying in one place for too long. Lastly, the triumphant Galren built his city atop the very spot of their victory.
Every 5 years the old companions would meet in the city of Galren where a festival would be held in their honor for saving the continent. Decades later, Nushala and Delmoth grew jealous of how prosperous Galren had become. They declared war on their old friend with Nushala leading the Northern forces and Delmoth leading bands of misfits, brigands, and monsters. Not wanting the people of his city to be harmed, Galren went outside the city gates to face the former companions himself. With his staff held aloft he single handily repelled the forces killing Delmoth in the chaos. The defeated Nushala went back to her kingdom in the North and never ventured south again until her death mid fifth age.
Throughout the fifth age, the city of Galren saw many monsters attack the city and every time Galren would gallantly defend it at all costs always being victorious. Among his greatest triumphs were the Lich who came to feed off the souls of the inhabitants, the beholder who sought to lay waste to the city as he despised those unlike him, and the red dragon who coveted the wealth of the city and wished to seize its treasures for itself. Each time the city was attacked, Galren ran out to face the threats with his staff held high.
In the year 647 of the fifth age, the legendary Galren passed away in his bed at Feyfane tower.
