Slate D'Rackk

The seemingly lost clay golem from the realm of Giants, Slate D'Rackk wonders the South Plains of Cytal in search of his life purpose. With a natural curiosity for the unknown he simply observes the world and attempts to make sense of the realm of Magic.

I found him you know. Or rather, I freed him. Locked away in that room for a time that only Chronos knows. A golem was certainly the last thing I expected on the other side of that door. And he continues to surprise me every time we meet. I must admit, I do enjoy our little chats.
— Mayor Hamoss, Sianwood

Origins:

Slate began life as all golem do, by descending from the heavens and entering the mortal plane via the Sanctuary of Ascension. Sent by the gods for a singular purpose. But that purpose was unclear, unspoken. And so, like all golem kind, he went in search of his divine orders so that he could one day return to the gods. He looked high and low for his purpose, from the dwarvern city of Tagorun to the sides of colossal giants. But everywhere Slate went, he could not find what he was looking for.   Then came the day when yet another skirmish broke out between the Paleskins and Greenskins. Slate was caught in the middle of it, dodging and evading blind attacks from both sides. He moved as quickly as a golem could and stumbled. Falling into a nearby cave under a great oak tree. Beneath the tree was something unusual, a simple pile of rocks stacked in the centre of the cave opening. Slate stopped in his tracks to observe the rocks, almost transfixed by them. Then as if by forced beyond his control, he approached the rocks, reaching out for them with his clay hand. And then, nothing.   The next thing Slate knew, he was in a large, dark, empty room. All he could feel was a few small pebbles dusted on the ground, the spacing between large tiles and what he assumed was some form of metallic door. Being the polite golem he was, Slate knocked and waited for a response. But no response came. So he tried again hours later. But still nothing. The golem tried knocking on the door once a day, every day for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, after knocking a thousand times and a thousand times more, the door creaked open. And in the doorway was a young man, ready to greet him.   The man in the doorway, introduced himself as Mayor Hamoss and released Slate from his isolation. Offering him freedom and friendship. The moment Slate saw the sorcerer, he knew he was close to finding his purpose. So he vowed his rescuer as his master and began exploring the world at Hamoss' command. But upon leaving the dark room, Slate had discovered he was no longer in the realm of Giants. Instead he had been whisked away to a whole new world. The realm of Magic, Violem.

Slate's Internal Thoughts
Perhaps the gods have rule over all domains. Capable of seeing the past, present and future. Not just of giants and orcs, but of the magic users of this realm as well. It would explain how I ended up here and crossing paths with Master Hamoss. It is something I do not understand, divinity, but however the ancient magic works it has already begun laying a trail for me to follow. I wonder what this new world has to offer?
