Dedrof Metal
A common ore buried below the surfaces of the Hoarwae rainforests, lies an overlooked murky brown ore known as Dedrof. Once exposed to air, the metal rusts into a beautiful pale green surface.
What's this? Hmm, peculiar. Do you know what this is by any chance? I am not surprised, for its not very common in the kingdom. But, if I am not mistaken, it’s Dedrof metal. As common as any copper or iron down the mines, on far off shores. That is if you know where to looking of course. Nothing too exciting though I'm afraid, what else you got to show me?
Usage:
In its natural state, Dedrof appears as a dull brown clump that can be overlooked and sometimes mistaken for common rock. As strong as iron and is often used by the Ignea tribes for things such as tools, weapons, chains and more. If left untampered, the raw metal will oxidise into a pale green colour. The ore can be forged at any stage during oxidisation to retain its current colouring. Sailors who discovered the ore took it back home to blacksmiths. Where it was used like iron to create different alloys. The most common being Dedrof Steel, with a slightly lower melting point than regular steel and appearing as a pale brown colour similar to chocolate. Most commonly found in weapons and armour. The other common alloy is Frosty Rust, a mixture part Dedrof, part copper and part silver. The finished alloy appears as a collection of pale greens with fractal patterns spanning the alloy. Key examples of this alloy can be found in Jewellery.Notable Uses:
Tuning fork of Frogs: A tuning fork carved out of hardened Dedrof that is tuned to a specific frequency that resonates with any nearby amphibians. Bands of the Raging Storm: A collection of four metallic bracelets, each scribed with a different rune allowing the user to cast and combine spells at the wave of a hand.- Blinding Light – Causes the ‘blind’ condition upon a successful roll
