Castle Olteanu

Perched high in the mountains overlooking Karvostra, the capital of Stranovia, Castle Olteanu serves as the headquarters of the Zorya Nocturne — the state-sanctioned order of vampire hunters.

Originally constructed in the late 13th century and expanded repeatedly over the following centuries, the fortress is an immense complex of curtain walls, towers, vaulted halls, and modernised wings added during the 19th century. Gas lamps, telegraph lines, and reinforced vaults testify to its continued use and adaptation.

Within its walls are training facilities, administrative offices, and the Vaults of Olteanu, rumoured to house the world’s largest collection of weapons forged from true Damascus steel, each capable of wounding or killing a vampire.

The castle symbolises discipline, vigilance, and balance — a reminder that Stranovia’s stability rests on those willing to guard the line between humanity and the undead. Even from Karvostra’s streets, its silhouette dominates the skyline, an ever-present emblem of order in a land where night never truly ends.
