Owner of Trinkets in Witch's Hollow; an unregistered, unlicensed alchemist operating at the edges of the law and well outside the good graces of London Alchemists' Guild.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Once a promising apprentice of the London Alchemists' Guild, Aaron was expelled in 1889 after being accused of “unnatural acts.” The charge was levelled by his own master in the aftermath of Aaron’s repeated refusals of the man’s unwelcome advances. Cast out and barred from legitimate practice, Aaron continued his studies in secret, piecing together a livelihood until he could open Trinkets in Witch's Hollow.
Employment
Aaron distils and compounds potions off the books, selling them at cut-rate prices to a clientele who prefer not to leave their names. His stock runs to practical fixes and questionable shortcuts rather than grand works of artifice—fast, dirty, and effective enough to keep his door turning.
Morality & Philosophy
Aaron’s work is illegal and he knows it. He keeps recipes lean and costs low, trimming away refinements the Guild deems essential. He does not ask questions he does not wish to answer. He will refuse commissions that are needlessly cruel—but his line is practical rather than pious.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Maurice Harris: A street lad who drifts through Witch's Hollow and, too often, Aaron’s thoughts. Aaron is secretly in love with Maurice and hides it behind dry humour and extra coin slipped across the counter. He tells himself it is concern, not longing; he seldom convinces himself.
Social Aptitude
The Guild’s judgement left Aaron bitter and wary. He meets authority with a cool tongue and customers with a merchant’s patience so long as they pay and keep quiet. Among the Hollow’s shadier patrons he is valued for silence, speed, and prices that undercut the licensed shops by half.
