The Birth of the Daeva Empire

When the gods vanished, the world plummeted into chaos—and the Second Cold War began.

The Second Cold War?

The Second Cold War (3849–3999) spanned a century and a half of proxy conflicts, sabotage, and ideological fractures that reshaped civilization. Without the gods’ guidance, nations turned inward, driven by fear, dwindling resources, and a desperate scramble for power.
The war’s cruelty lay in its silence:
  • Proxy battles flared across border regions, avoiding open declarations of war.
  • Trade collapsed under embargoes, sanctions, and resource hoarding.
  • Cyber-warfare sabotaged power grids and communications, plunging cities into darkness.
  • Espionage, assassinations, and engineered regime collapses became the norm.
Generations were born, lived, and died knowing only this cold conflict, with entire regions abandoned to hunger and fear while the world’s leaders played at survival. Trust dissolved between nations, and fear replaced faith as the last remnants of the old world eroded.

The Creation of the Daeva Empire

By the late 3900s, civilization stood on the brink of irreversible collapse, its final embers nearly snuffed out under constant low-burning conflict. Amid this desperation, leaders of five of the most powerful remaining nations began to see the truth: continued division meant extinction.
Into this chaos stepped Emerys Daeva, a diplomat and scholar whose tireless efforts to mediate ceasefires and broker peace gave hope where none existed. Emerys traveled between war-torn capitals at great personal risk, bridging divides no others dared to cross.
Tragically, Emerys Daeva died before the world they fought for could be realized, succumbing to wounds and exhaustion in the final days of critical negotiations.
On December 31, 3999, the five nations, carrying Emerys’s final treaties and hard-won alliances, signed the Pact of Dawn, ending the Second Cold War and uniting under a single banner in memory of the one who had made it possible.
They named this unified realm the Daeva Empire, ensuring Emerys’s name would live on as a symbol of peace won through courage, patience, and the willingness to hope.

A New Dawn

Each of the five nations established a Primary Academy, honoring their legacy while preparing generations to serve, protect, and preserve the peace of the new empire.
On the eve of this unification, the leaders signed beneath a single motto:
“We rise as one, to serve the world we share.”

Legacy

The Second Cold War ended not in annihilation but in the birth of something new. From the ashes of division, the Daeva Empire rose, built by mortals to shield a world that had nearly destroyed itself, carrying forward the memory of a time when gods were silent and hope was nearly lost.
Where the gods’ disappearance left a void, the Daeva Empire stepped forward, promising unity and vigilance in a world forever changed by a war that lasted lifetimes.
