Cypress Grove

Cypress Grove is the only permanent settlement in the Sylvan Enclave, serving as its capital. Few who are not citizens of the Enclave have ever seen the city, but its beauty is unmatched. Deep within the town, a palace made out of many live trees fused together houses its Cypress Queen. She is a sovereign ruler whose long life (even for an elf) grants her great wisdom of the ways of the world. She was alive to witness the rise and fall of the Empire of Man and knows how futile and pointless other nations' conflicts are.   Cypress Grove's buildings are built in or on trees. Some are treehouses while other buildings are directly inside of living trees. These buildings blend in with their environment quite well, to the point that someone could walk halfway through the town and not even notice. Its roads, though primitive and seldom used, are covered in half an inch of water because of the environment necessary for the cypress trees to grow. The Cypress Queen's palace, however, is quite elaborate. It is, to the Sylvans, the World Tree. Without this they are nothing and their entire nation cannot exist. It weaves together all of the roots and vines of the whole Forest of the Verdant Crown into one living, breathing thing. The tree is old, knotted, and large, but shows no signs of dying anytime soon.   Cypress Grove is built on [NAME PENDING], one of the tributaries of the Lotus River. The river is worked very little apart from a rope bridge to cross it and a well to more easily obtain water.
