Order of the Iron Fist
The Order of the Iron Fist is a monastic order based in Braggo focused on the mastery of body, soul and mind through combat and meditation.
Divine Origins
While not explictly in conflict with Sevari, and well tolerated by Braggo's Sevari churches, the Order of the Iron Fist descends from the martial and philosophical traditions of the Vesikatli people of the Gouge, and retains many traces of Vesikatli religion. The focus on depriving oneself of a primary sense and learning to fight without it in particular seems to very strongly parallel the initiation right of the Vesikatli Smokedancers, who are known to undergo painful rites that permanently deprive them of a major sense in the belief that it grants them greater abilities in all others.
Indeed, while most Ironfists are Vetr, and most follow Sevari, it is not unheard of to see Gougeborn visitors in the monastery. Furthermore, one of the most prominent Grandmasters of the last 2 centuries was a Vesikatli priest of the Smokedancer's sister order, the Bloodletters. Even the order's official symbol of office, a strange series of symbols either branded or scarified onto the knuckles, seems to have originated in the Gouge.
Tenets of Faith
The body must be tended like a sapling if it is to reach its full potential and usability. Though it can be made to work for the soul that inhabits it, never think of the body as a mere tool, for flesh and blood are fickle and needy.
