Rian
Rian is the Elven Wild God of celebration, festivity, and freedom.
His incredibly capricious and unpredictable nature has lead to his association with madness, though much of his worshipers celebrate him for his blessings of festivals and wine.
Symbolism & Depiction
Rian is a pale-furred satyr with a long mane of white hair. He has pointed horns and is often depicted as having a very pretty face. Rian is always smiling in every depiction, often with teeth far too bright.Holy Symbols
Rian's holy symbol is the sprouting cup; a vine that curls and opens into the shape of an open goblet. The symbol is commonly emblazoned or painted, though red roses are often used to symbolise the cup.Worship
Rian is among the most popular Wild Gods in the Elven pantheon; especially the Sylvan. Worship of Rian is often limited to rituals and short lip service rather than full worship; celebrants gather around a table heaped with food, where they hold a goblet of wine that's shared from each person in a toast to Rian's name.The Revel
Rian's a god of revelry and decadence -- invoking his name is said to invite the Wild God for a spot at the table. His name is seldom whispered or mentioned at an affair for this reason, as any and all celebrations dedicated to his name are destined to fall into a spiral of depravity. Furniture will be splintered or broken, food will be strewn through the room from the frenzied feast, and drink will stain the walls from the revelry.Freedom of Hardship
Among the most important parts of Rian's worship is the offer of freedom. He liberates the body as well as the mind; it isn't all too uncommon for desperate mortals bound by chains to seek Rian's guidance in breaking them.Tenets of Faith
Rian isn't a deity that relies on text or sacred tenets -- in fact, tenets and rule sare the complete antithesis of what he stands for.
Despite that, the famous words of Rian's worship is a very simple phrase;
"Do what you want."
