Be on your best behaviour, otherwise Herr Knuchekinkrucke will teach you a lesson!
Mr. Spindlespine is a creature in Villish folklore. He's a gangly, long-limbed man that's said to visit children that failed to work enough during the
Yule. When little boys and girls fail to work hard enough, Mr. Spindlespine takes them to his workshop so that they may learn discipline through hard work.
Depiction
Herr Knuchekinkrucke earns his name from his massive spine; which bulges out from his back in a bumpy arch while he walks on all fours. He has long, wiry limbs that end with frostbitten fingers that he uses to tap against the window of sleeping children. A soft tap informs them that they're going to be receiving a toy for their hard work, while a furious knock will warn them that they're lacking in work -- and may end up stuffed in his sack for their failure.
Children that continue to fail their labors after his warning knock will be dragged out through the window the next day, where they're then stuffed into a red sack and dragged to his workshop.
Those that remain on their best behaviour earn new toys to play with, arriving at the foot of their bed.
"If he walks on all fours, how does he carry his sack?"
"With his teeth."
