Mondlicht established

Political event

At this point, the Northern high elves begin to make themselves known and most other small powers recognise them as a major power. Many of these small kingdoms, towns, and city-states pledge themselves under the banner of the new country of Mondlicht.   This was the first group to give Orstad pause in centuries.

While Orstad had been pushing north for centuries, only slowed by minor skirmishes with locals and the terrain they finally had their advancement stopped by a group of guerilla fighters serving the Northern elves. These elves, while few in number, easily outpaced their southern brethren to the point the supposed immortal invasion force was called back to the empires capital for "reconditioning". Until this point, the Orstad empire had never been forced to give up ground to a superior force.
While the Northern elves remained extremely reclusive, hiding as best they could from all others, they soon found many small groups rallying under their banner and begging for aid. While they agreed to lead the allied forces, they would only do so from afar and any time they had to meet in person they covered themselves completely in veils or armour, never letting themselves be seen by their new allies.
While Mondlicht forces pushed the Orstad out of the North, they never pursued beyond the modern Mondlicht borders.
