Gorge Viper Habitat

Design

The outdoor Gorge Viper enclosure within the Cedar Beaststead is an irregularly shaped, spacious area covering approximately 600 feet by 400 feet, providing ample room for the Gorge Vipers to move, climb, and explore. The walls consist of large, rough-hewn stones, rustic wooden fencing, and native vegetation, creating a secure barrier while maintaining the illusion of a forested environment. Native plants and trees are incorporated into the enclosure, creating a lush and vibrant environment. Small water features, such as a babbling brook and a shaded pond, provide drinking water for the Gorge Vipers. Large, natural rock formations serve as basking spots for the snakes and add aesthetic interest to the enclosure.

Entries

The caretaker entry is a separate access point for staff and caretakers to enter the enclosure for feeding, maintenance, and routine checks. This entry is discreet and secure to ensure the safety of the Gorge Vipers and staff.

Sensory & Appearance

As visitors enter the enclosure, they are greeted by a mesmerizing blend of natural colors. Sunlight filters through the forest canopy above, casting dappled patterns of light and shadow across the enclosure's floor.
