Xorto
To call Xorto isolated would be an understatement. Trade is rare and information rarer yet. It would take a miracle to send in a letter, let alone to receive one back. At first glance, it might seem that nobody enters and nobody leaves. That glance might be all you need for this Dynasty.Swamps, jungles, and valleys fill the Xortan lands. Known for being the only surviving civilisation on the Broken Continent, the Dynasty is very closed off. Little is known of its culture or inner happenings and it is generally left alone. Some diplomatic relations exist between Xorto and some other countries, such as Apriso, though they remain fickle at best. The one exception is Cabascan, the island country found in the north of the Glemrt/Rødsger continent. The two have much steadier trade relations and have previously acted as allies in time of crisis or during diplomatic negotiations, such as the Threeway Tie.
Culture
Whilst little is known about the present state of the country, some is known about its past. Having shared a continent with the Mortan Empire, Xorto was similarly militaristic in its way of governance and life. Being in the military was a thing of honour and Xortans, according to bits of history which the world has access to, had a sort of mania for honour, with crude social constructs entirely centred about this characteristic, from rigid gender roles to deadly duels and even judicially-approved and -led hangings or other methods of murder brought about the bruising of somebody's honour or ego, from grave but direct insults to rumour-spreading and "dirt-digging" or "conspiracy to offend".1
There is some evidence to suggest that the system had become only more rigid since and that the government had become much more centred around one individual; The Presiding, whose identity at the time is unknown.
