The Moons' Port Volumes
For the Cultured Eye
Friend, the Volumes will become the culture of this city. We will write of it, we will curate it, we will eventually define it!Since its inception, three years ago, The Moons' Port Volumes (known colloquially as 'the Volumes' or 'MPV') has aimed to be read by the crème de la crème. Volumes is an Aprisian newspaper based in Wuchun-Morios, and is published and, for the most part, sold within the confines of the city. The company and thus the papers were founded by Bern Anderson Polk, somewhat of a celebrity in the city. Volumes is printed on crisp, cream-coloured pieces of parchment, and was designed to both be comfortable enough for handling by members of smaller races, such as Halflings and Dwarves but also to be grand enough for those humanoids of a more common size. Its motto, 'For The Cultured Eye', sits under the title, in cursive letters. All articles and pieces found within are written in Mortan, as Apriso has no official language of its own; the bigger articles are often decorated by an elaborate sketch, which somehow relates to the writing but gives away little of its contents. The paper has reported news mainly on the topics of culture, invention, and art, and is one of the first spaces for short-fiction and short stories, not counting the previously published collections of such works. Here one finds one or two of such works per edition, per author, where most publishing guilds request at least ten or twelve of them before they'll even look at the pieces.
