Forced from their homes, these outcasts converged at a massive red monolith that provided shade, stone and rebirth. Over generations, they carved homes, defenses and halls into cuit rock, from which they also took their name.
Architecturally, the settlement is austere but ingenious: cisterns hollowed into the stone collect seasonal flash floods and mirrored vents bring light into the inner halls.
