And meet this new world
It's warm and welcoming yet dark, the darkest place you've ever seen. But you don't mind that, not this time. The weightless body of yours is being rocked by something with the care of a loving mother, and nostalgic smells fill your senses. You feel everything you once loved and yet nothing at all, it's enjoyable.
Around you, you start seeing the first leaves of a forest, hear the breeze of a mountain, and feel the water of a beach cover and uncover your feet in a rhythm. As you wonder which feeling is more comfortable, you hear a voice creeping in the back of your head...
... Wake up ...
MountainCoastThe breeze starts surrounding you, stronger and stronger, forcing you to close your eyes. The weightless feeling starts to fade away, leaving you with the feeling of begin falling. You extend your hand and find something to grab, and you do so, with the strongest grip you can do. As the wind slows down, you open your eyes and fear bathes your body as you find yourself hanging from a small cliff in the side of a mountain.
You start climbing down. Slowly. Carefully. The cliff is not that high, so you are quickly walking down the mountain instead of climbing down. It's still tiring and the breeze is cold, so when you saw a small town in the distance, you didn't think twice to go towards there. When you are reaching the town, you start feeling a bit more the senses in your body. Breathing it's hard, caused by the exhaustion of the climb, and the cold mountain air has left you cold to the bones.
ForestWhile looking at the water dancing around your feet, you don't see the wave coming towards you. It covers you, it hugs you, and it drags you. In a moment of panic, when trying to scream, you feel water filling your throat but you quickly push it out and close your mouth. The cold water feels like a thousand knifes brushing your skin. You dare to open your eyes for a second and see bright light on top of you, and without a second thought, you kick with your legs to go up towards the light.
You gasp for air as you pull yourself out the water and lay down in the dirt, feeling the soft and small waves covering and uncovering your bottom half of the body in a rhythm. As you try to breath, you end up coughing out the sea water, it hurts your throat, but as air starts to fill your lungs, you lay on your back and your eyes start getting adapted to being out of water and allow you to see a town in front of you. As your body and mind calms down, the senses in your body become stronger and you cannot but feel how the water has left you cold to the bones.
Without realizing, the leaves start falling more and more, up to the point where you see nothing else. You move around, with your hands in front of your face in a useless attempt of protecting it from the leaves, trying to find a way to leave the leaves. The leaves are so annoying that you don't realize you are actively walking on land until you accidentally crash into a tree trunk and fall on your butt.
The leaves stopped falling and allowed you to see the tree's and yours surroundings: a dry forest. You cannot but feel lost as you look around, but it feels like nothing as the dread that shakes your whole being when you hear a growl right behind you. You were running away before you even realized the situation, and as you run past the last row of trees, you feel a moment of safety as a town appears in front of you, making you think you can stop for a second and rest. Your heart hurts, the adrenaline, now fading, left you a horrible headache and all the running drenched you in a cold sweat that's left you cold to the bones.

Your new home
This is a new mysterious world for you, yet, it has a feeling of familiarity that you can't shake off. There's nothing to remember for you, only new this to learn and see. Your heart knows it will be a nice place, that you'll have fun and warm moments that you won't forget (this time). A burning desire for adventure fills your empty memories, whether it means something of your past or not is something only you can decide.
Whatever you might have left behind or how you reached here, it matters not, the past shall stay as past, and from now on? It shall be your story. This is world is your path, your journal, your story. It will be your decisions that allowed you to learn more about this world, and maybe to learn a new skill or two to help you in your travels.
The world
Where are you?
Vadiases is the town you find yourself in front of. It would be smart to visit it and get used to it. It might offer valuable knowledge about the area and even some adventures for you to do, but before you get to adventuring, you'll need some equipment and skills. The downside of not remembering who you are is that you aren't aware of your capabilities and limits, but it's a great oportunity to start anew.
New name, new life, be whoever you desire to be.
You can only guess that there are other places to see in this world, but without transport or knowledge about this world, you find yourself limited to this lovely town for now.
Your legacy
No more forgetting
Forgetting who once you were is harsh to accept and overcome. It's confusing, it leaves you with an useless feeling, it's horrible. And you don't want to forget again. You have been giving a chance to a new life, whether the previous was good or bad, and you cannot but accept it, might as well not forget it again.
You have a couple of ideas for it, they are pretty straighforward: leave a mark big enough that people won't forget you, and write down your adventures, your emotions, your skills, everything you can think of.
One is easier than the other, but both are a burning fire in your heart that keeps you moving. Little can be done about the past, everything you can do is work on the present so tomorrow's mystery can hopefully be something you are working towards to.

And what to expect
A world of adventure, more focused towards nice and cozy things and adventures that don't need to murder everything in your path.
A world you will learn about and explore as you grow your person by learning new skills and meeting new people.
This story will start in Vadiases and while you feel a bit trapped in here, you will be able to find different things to explore and do. Some actions might need you to have certain skills that you can learn while exploring or interacting with people.
This is a project about exploration, both for the reader (referred as adventurer or Wayfarer) and myself (Catoblepon). It's objective is to try a new way (for me) to write and format worldbuilding while packing it to the brim (as most as I can) with interactions for the reader. It will partially be based on a system of honor.

I cannot even fathom how much work is needed to pull a project like this, both in the writing and the technical part. The only certainty is I am very eager to explore everything and adventure through Vaelis Aris. I'm sure it will be super fun and original! Just awesome <3
