Wood Elf

"The trail goes down a piece, to the stream! but careful then — mind your feet! — or your boot will spring a leak." — Wood elf to a wayward human in their woods
The smaller ethnicity, Wood Elves inhabit the wilder forests of the world. Flighty and crafty, what they lack in pomp they make up for in wits. More mischievous and loud than their stuffy cousins.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Long braids on both men and women. Hunting prowess highly esteemed.

Gender Ideals

Women are expert hunters in trees, while men hunt on the ground. Both clean and prepare meals. In their cities, men are hired moving-muscle and assistants to women who own shops and are crafty merchants.

Courtship Ideals

In rural societies, a male or female will whittle a bow when feelings develop. The giving of this bow induces courtship and the breaking of the bow symbolizes marriage. If this bow is returned it is considered breaking of courtship and bad luck.   In urban environments, rings made from weaving rockgrass — a sturdy kind of grass — serve as engagement and wedding rings. A bow is usually broken at these weddings too, though it is mostly ceremonial.

Relationship Ideals

In both urban and rural areas, strong cohesion is paramount. Wife and Husband are a team and are not better than each other. When they have children they train them to their ways and must agree on these ways before having a child.

They inhabit the wilder forests of Arcorvatavá. No large groups live outside of Arcorvatavá.

The Clazhec forests of Caphitolia provide deeper hollows under taller trees perfect for these elves. Some smaller groups also inhabit the forests of Metzono and Hezhz.

Belor Daeg

Their High Elf cousins are more prone to these places, but a few groups live in the far south in Phashimun and Belon Daer.
