Weller Family
Based out of the Weller Estate in the Gaslight District, the family patiently and quietly supports the social rights of kobolds. This human family started as a group of settlers trying to conquer the Whipshade River to find a new safe lands to settle. The river itself is slightly toxic and not suitable to long term drinking. The family had kobold guides, former tribesmen who had left their own lands. The guides were familiar with the region, having lived there for a time. One of their number had an uncanny knack for finding water, and he helped guide the family to the rare sites fit for drilling wells. This kobold's contribution made settlements in the area possible, and this would eventually form the basis for Kesh'Astrana.
Over time, the kobold contribution to the city's founding was buried or forgotten, but the Weller's remembered. In memory of their racial cooperation, the Weller's advocate for kobolds and secretly invest in their businesses. For this reason, the other old-wealth family's of Kesh'Astrana think they are eccentric.
